Ricky Wilson
Hello all, Im expecting my MK3.5 Focus this week so handing down my MK2 to my other half. Just getting round to sorting out a few bits and pieces such as the isofix bars but one that i'm having issues with is the interior dome light. Brand new bulb and the fuse hasnt blown. What I did notice when pulling the fuse and putting it back in, i could hear a relay clicking away as the metal pins touched the fusebox and the interior light would flicker, but when the fuse is fully seated it doesnt work. I've read elsewhere that it could be the relay. Where is the relay associated with the battery saver/interior light? I've tried looking on the fuse box diagrams but cant see it. Any help would be grateful :-)
nazsky786
normally relays don't normally become faulty. We need to know what fuse box would be inside your car. Does it have 2 connectors at bottom, or 3, with big brown connector. But double check you have correctly fitted you new bulb. If led then it could be a polarity issue. But once you tell us the type of fuse box someone will tell you the Relay if it has one.
Ricky Wilson
This is the engine fuse box which I think the sound of the relay was coming from. The passenger fuse box I don't have a picture of right now but can get one in the morning. I've tried a normal bulb and a led one, both have the same results. Thanks for your help on this so far, fingers crossed we'll get it sorted :-)

I've tried looking on the fuse box diagrams but cant see it. The supply to the dome lights is from the battery saver relay. It should be orange, orange-yellow or orange-blue. Fuse F80 (10A) in the Mk2 passenger fusebox supplies power to this relay. This relay is marked as being in the passenger fuse box. R17 is the only relay in my box, so I guess that is it. There are two returns from the dome lamps, one goes direct to the GEM (aka BCM), used for auto (door open) mode (Black-Yellow wire). One goes direct to ground for manual mode (Black-Blue or Black-Yellow.)
