Hi

I don't have front fogs on my MK1

So was thinking about installing some front DRL's as they are dead cheap

How do I go about wiring these up???

Do they go on when the lights are turned on, or on when you start the car??

Thanks

There should be wiring for fog lights behind the bumper but 8f you want them to come on when you start the engine then they need wiring up properly using a separate feed using a fuse and relay I should think but not sure how you go about it

They should come on when you start the car. They should also dim when the lights are switched on to avoid dazzle at night. I think failure to do this might be illegal and an MOT failure but hopefully one of the gurus will be able confirm or refute this.

That's the official word on the matter, however an MOT centre may not even consider them in the test as they were not a requirement when the car was manufactured, however if he feels that they may cause dazzle then it may fail or be flagged as an advisory. It's more a plod thing if anything.
