Has anyone got any experience with this kit and what do you think or can you recommend a better 1080p alternative around the same price? I love the P2P feature of it being displayed remotely to my mobile.

I use a swan 8 channel kit with 4 1080p cameras. I can view it remotely and it has a 1tb hard drive so I get a good time on the recorder. You can set up motion detection and all sorts on it - also what areas you wish to have motion detection.

It's now up to £400 in screwfix for the same kit I paid £300 for.

How long have you had it for Stef? Ive just read about someones Swann kit packing up after 2 years but i guess that could just be a one off. The alarm engineer i use at work said the kit i posted is good for the price but its always nice to get other opinions. He actuall runs a H-View system which he shown me on his phone. I thought that feature was brilliant.

The £399 kit in Screwfix is 2tb so maybe thats why the price has now increased.

Nothing yet, but I need to get some ASAP.  Especially with having three cars parked on the road (one quite far away from the house) it would be prudent to have outside coverage.

To be honest i always thought it would be in the region of £1000 for a basic system. I didnt realise you can get systems like above connected to your phone for remote viewing so cheap!

I just have a basic CCTV camera which i've installed in the door of my garage, as this overlooks the road where the other car is parked

It records HD onto a SD Card, and loops every month

Used the recording to prove a neighbours car got hit last year

One that records to an SD card is exactly what I'm looking for, but have been unable to find.  What make/model is yours, if you don't mind me asking?

Well spotted perhaps but I've just double checked mine and it's 2tb.

Ive had mine a few keep months now just, no problems what so ever. I have installed my own cables rather than the rubbish stuff they come with.

There are some cheap ones on eBay if youre after a stand alone SD card unit for internal fitment that you view from your phone.

I've not yet purchased a system for the house as thankfully crime is very low in the area; but I've found this website to be very keenly priced: http://www.freetv.ie/cctv/

I also plan to fit a done in the ceiling at the top of the stairs which will capture any intruder face on; should they come up the stairs
