zetec turner
Crashed my white mk 8 into a lamp post today, not good at all. Ford say £1500 to fix i was lucky as it had only smashed my front bumper and grill but still its something you do not need at this time of year. No one to blame but my self though, apart from the f*****g ice :@

FMC
sorry to hear of your misfortune, but i lol'd at the mk8 reference! reminded me of the scene from starsky & hutch where snoop dogg has a 1975 chevvy but it's only 1973 and he says "i know some people who know some people that robbed some people!!" let's see the pics of your wreck :P
InstructorPiggy
big shame bud...sorry for taking the mick...you'll learn not to go out next time or just take it that bit steadier!! hope fixed soon :)
bILLOO
Gutted for you... but at least it's no write off. And yeah... sorry... also had a 'LOL' your mark 8. :P
DanGull
Just because we all refer to the current model as the mk7, doesn't mean that all do. Some (including other forums) refer to the facelift version of the previous incarnation as the mk7 - which would make the current one the mk8. I don't know - someone prangs there car and we make them feel better by taking the !Removed! out of them, charming. Very sorry to hear about this. InstructorPiggy
Here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Fiesta says its the 6th? thats interesting...be interesting to see what FORD think tho!!! They put the mark5 as a mk4 facelift...which is true I guess! There was question over the mk3 si being a mk3.5 when I owned on!?!? all too confusing!! shame bout bump....not nice still...makes me gulp actually each time I clicky this topic!! ....and sorry to hijack this a little but i never knew this...(from wiki) "Fiesta ST In 2008, Ford offered Mountune Performance options for Fiesta ST vehicles, available at specialist British Ford dealers beginning 2008-03-01. It was developed by Roush Technologies Ltd, which owns the Mountune Racing motorsport brand. Mountune Performance Stage 1 (£1,435) includes high flow catalyst and tubular manifold, and re-calibration of the engine to produce 165 PS (121 kW; 163 hp). Mountune Performance Stage 2 package (£1,838) adds new camshafts and valve springs to the basic package to deliver 185 PS (136 kW; 182 hp).[17]" quite some upgrade that!! FMC
Piggy - check the Mountune website ;) http://www.mountuneperformance.co.uk Incidentally they list the new Fiesta as a Mk7 So does the German and Italian owner forums Never, ever heard of previous variants referred to as a Mk7 nor the current one as a Mk8 until i read THIS thread ;)

Easy now Dan, no need to get all high and mighty on this one! Was just a jovial prod! No need to see it as anything more or less :) Please dont re-open the Mk. 6/7/8 debate again! After all, it was the OP's fault that he wasn't driving in a suitable fashion in regard to the ice condition of the road :) No "taking the !Removed!" intended B)

No one to blame but my self though, apart from the f*****g ice :@ Sorry to hear that, sounds like you were going slowly and just hit a bad patch of it and didn't stop. From my experience yesterday you can think a road is ok then one patch won't be. On downhills (and I avoided anything at all steep) I was allowing about 20 metres in front of me whenever I moved off! Hope it gets fixed up good as new.
Gazjs
Sorry to hear about this. Nuthing worse than having no control over where youre car wants to go Hope you get it sorted soon :D
zetec turner
A simple miss type of an 8 rather than a 7 can soon kick up a fuss. i was told it was a mk 7 but who knows? And my car is sorted now Thanks. Decided to get the fogs, grille and diffuser sprayed black and i personally think it looks great. I will put up some pics of it crashed and how it looks now, may take a couple of days as i can not find my phone usb cable. =)
AndrewL
Glad to hear that you got it all sorted mate. Actually, someone else on here had their 'diffuser' and bumper trim painted black and I thought it looked great - I'm seriously considering getting mine done too as the standard plastic is a bit grey! Will look forward to the pics as a decider! :)
