New Air Filter Cone; is there anything i can do which makes this a better mod

Hello,

I am looking at putting a new cone air filter into my ford focus 1.6 TDCi (MKII).

I understand that this could make my engine hot, is there anything I can do to help try and avoid it from overheating? I am doing this mod as I want to make my engine sound louder and more meatier. I am also looking at putting a sports exhaust on the car (it will be a direct fit) will this work?

If you guys have any ideas about how to help me out it will be much appreciated.

Possibly look for some induction kits that come with heat shields.. the k&n comes with a lousy bit of flexy pipe you cable tie to your car that lets air travel through and up to the filter which is completely pointless if you ask me.. imo I would go for a j1 slightly more expensive but worth it in the long run
