Joe67
going to be looking at a mates 2004 focus, from whats been described it sounds like the powering steering pump has gone.. high pitched noise when driving, no powersteering, leaking fluid onto wishbone.. anyone any experience of this, done a few pumps and racks on vauxhalls, first focus
v530anh
Perhaps find the leak first, no point changing the pump if the leak is still there. See where the car is dripping....look for pipes over the wishbone.
FatHead1979
Also, is it petrol/diesel? Engine size? Not all variants are the same.

Russ
I'd say yep. Cheaper and easier. Son had similar on a fiesta, the garage quoted new pump & pipes so he just kept topping up & left it, went back 6 months later to the same garage and the same guy said it was the switch. One new switch later and all was well.
