Hi all, newby on here with a problem on daughters recently aquired s-reg Ka.

Problem is creak fom suspension when rocking car or going over rough road.

Got good knowledge of cars in general and I think its coming from front bush of the subframe or possibly bottom of suspension leg. Anyone had this problem? and how difficult or costly to do.

Thanks in advance.

A.

HI M8

TRY THE FOLLOWING

PUSH DOWN ON EACH WING TO SEE IF THE CREAKING IS THERE

AS IT MAYWELL BE THE DROPLINK

I DONE MINE LAST WEEK BUT CHANGED THE LOT

DROPLINKS

LOWER SUSPENSION ARM (WISHBONE)

STEERING ADJUSTORS (CAN'T REMEMBER THE PROPER NAME AT THE MO)

THE WHOLE LOST COST ME £52.00 INC POSTAGE TO DO BOTH SIDES

IT TOOK 5 HOURS TO DO BOTH SITES & I DONE THE BRAKE PADS WHILST I WAS THERE

THE PROBLEM I HAD ON MY SON'E S REG KA WAS ONE OF THE RUBBERS WAS PERISHED ON THE WISHBONE.

IF YOU DO CHANGE THE WISHBONES GET NEW BOLTS ASWELL AS I HAD TO ANGLE GRIND MINE OFF

GET THE KA ON RAMPS THEN LOOK UNDER AT THE MOUNTS ON THE WISHBONES AS THEY PERISH & YOU GOT TO REPLACE THE WHOLE THING

YOU MAY NEED TO CHECK THE RUBBERS ON THE ANTI ROLL BAR AS THEY GO & CAN CAUSE A KNOCKING NOISE

EXPLANE THE NOISE BETTER M8 & I'LL TRY TO GIVE MORE HELP

THE OTHER THING TO CHECK FOR THE REAR END IS OPEN THE BOOT

& HOLD 1 SIDE & SORT OF ROCK & SHAKE THE CAR TO SEE IF THE REAR RUBBERS ARE OK ASWELL

I HAD TO REPLACE MINE THE OTHR WEEK .

KEEP ME POSTED & I'LL HELP ALL I CAN

IF YOU NEED THE PLACE TO GET THE BITS FOR THE KA LET ME KNOW AS IT'S A GOOD ONLINE SHOP

Sorry for not explaining properly, but its the rear subframe and feel pretty sure its the front rubber mountings creaking. I got someone to rock the car whilst I held everywhere and feel pretty certain its coming from the bush or maybe rear strut.

it's the rubbers inside the rear subframe that's gone

i got a new pair from fords for about £30.. ish

you will need to make a puller to femove & fit the nes ones

it took me 4 hours to do my sons ka.

you will need the rubbers

2 large bits of tube with washers to fit

then a long threaded bar with nuts one

you will see what i mean if you look at this

The rear bushes are available separately to the subframe, but you will need to press the bushes out then in either using special tools or removing the whole axle beam and using a press.

this tool should do the job. It is listed for the Fiesta MKIV suspension bush, but considering they use the same bush, it should work.

make your own tool up as they cost about £70.00
