I've never owned a car with wind deflectors fitted, but they seem very popular with the Fiesta community. Why is this?

They prevent wind rushing into the car making it calmer when the window is down.

Also they put them on for cosmetic reasons as they do look good with the dark or smokey effect they can be considered as a  cosmetic mod.

A cosmetic mod. Is that a bloke in a Parka wearing makeup?

It stops rain running of the roof into a partially opened window.

You can also leave your windows down an inch when parked up and it can't really be seen by people passing by. I'd say mainly cosmetic though, and to quote @Neon "is that a bloke in a Parka wearing makeup?" I'd like to add this one. You can't polish a *****, but you can make it sparkle if you throw glitter on it [emoji16] I'd class deflectors as glitter so go for it
