TPMS sensor replacement

Got a puncture the other day and, as the tread on the tyre was very low, opted to have the tyre replaced.

Tyre centre found the TPMS sensor broken (literally) within the tyre. This could have happened when the tyre went fully flat I suppose, or they could have damaged it during the tyre removal. In either case I need a new one.

Trying to keep the cost down the obvious thing is for me to buy a replacement sensor and programmer on eBay (about £40 all in), and have the new sensor fitted at the tyre centre.

Do I have to match the ID of the existing (broken) TPMS sensor exactly, or are all 433Mhz sensors 'compatible'? Could I potentially buy one that clashes with the other 3 tyres? If I buy an absolutely identical sensor, do I even need the programmer?

Any advice much appreciated.

just buy a sensor, no programming required, it will self learn. you will need the rubber tyre valve also that matches sensor.
