Phil21185
If you know the pinouts from your connector, can you be certain (either with a known working device or a multimeter) that you are getting supply on the appropriate pins or that there isn't a fuse that has blown? Could it be a problem with the caravan itself if you;ve only just bought (assuming not new)?
jrn1919
Just found a yellow wire that's connected to pin and is connected to nothing in the car. This was a brand new loom from sandicliffe. Any ideas please
Phil21185
Hold on, do you mean that the caravan isn't drawing power from the hookup to the car for appliances? I assume the products you have bought are intended for this? If there's a wire in the loom that isn't connected to your car, you need to know what the pin is supposed to do. You'll either have to find a wiring diagram for the connector or trace the wire from the same pin on the caravan side and see if you can find out where it goes. Micro
Two plugs on the caravan, are these the 7 pin ones?
iantt
quite common for the fridge wire to not be connected to the vehicle. its normally tapped up in the harness. most ford 13 pin wiring kits miss out the relay and wiring for this . optional extra so they seem. ive had to provide wiring and relay to provide feed before when fitting 13 pin kit on some fords. pin 10 is fridge
jrn1919
Iantt any idea of what to search for ( the optional extra ) thanks all for your reply

iantt
you just need a voltage sensing relay. is pin 9 live all the time? not fitted a ford mk2 towbar harness in years, so was it plug in to existing vehicle wiring? where did it pick up its live from . iantt
ive used this kitvin the past esp if theres no live in the boot to tap into. nice long lenth of cable straight to the battery. provides switched live via relay
jrn1919
Both pin 9 and 10 are not connected to the car both taped up. Yes the loom was just plug and play into existing connections
iantt
So you got 13pin wired up as a 7pin basically. Ok. Well you need to run a fused 12v permanent wire for pin 9 and a fused switched ign live for pin 10(fused) that kit I showed is just for the pin 10 . You can buy kits on eBay for both
