zagobir
**JUNE UPDATE**BB has had quite a bit of attention recently! The timing belt was giving up the ghost so had that changed along with the others. I also had an issue where my coolant was heating to the point where it bubbled and overflowed from the expansion tank before the fan kicked in (for just a few seconds) to cool it down and bring it back down in between min and max levels. Turns out there was an issue with the relay which meant that my fan kicked in too late and cut out too quickly to keep my coolant at the right levels. This is FINALLY sorted and I now have no issues with coolant leaking all over the place [emoji1417] My car was back in tip top condition in time for Bromley Pageant. Here she is on the Ford Club GB [emoji636] stand:Today, she went in for her MOT! Always a dreaded time of year for me. Apart from a quick headlight alignment, she passed with only 2 minor advisories (both of which I was aware of anyway [emoji57]) Another happy year of motoring with BB and I can now get on with a few more plans that I have for her [emoji16]Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
zain611
Good that you got those bits sorted especially now with the hotter weather where the engine will warm up quicker. Next MOT for me is in September so probably do it a month before and get the car serviced. Hopefully it passes with no emission problems but might worry about the HIDs
b4zz
good to hear she passed her m.o.t and you got all the bits sorted that needed doing. got my m.o.t in September so hopefully pass with flying colours again. the fez looking good on the stand by the look of the pics. cant wait to see what other plans you have got

zagobir
A few cosmetic additions, including a gear stick hat that I knitted all on my own [emoji16] (super proud coz it's only the 2nd thing I've ever knitted) Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
Jonro2009
WOW, and not a good wow sorry 😆😂😂 but knitting, come on that doesn’t quite fit the image does it lol. I can’t even sew so I’m just jealous lol. I like all the other little bits you’ve done but can’t get on board with your knob hat 🙊🙊 surely you would slip when you changing gear, or do you have to hold the shaf..........🤔😝🤷♂️

And yeah I guess it is a TINY bit slippery but doesn't really affect gear changes.Hopefully you get more on board with what's to come in my next update [emoji23] Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
Jonro2009
LOL, i wouldn’t say I’m a ‘hater’ that sounds cruel. I’m just not a fan of that particular mod, however no one else is going to have one like it and trying to be unique on the car scene can be difficult! Knitting is a decent skill to have, don’t try doing it while driving though 😉 my mate crocheted a blanket for my baby and it’s amazing. Whats coming next? I just treated myself to a new Karcher so I’m looking for a decent snowfoam Lance now. Just building up a decent cleaning kit and products, and started the saving again for rear light replacements as apparently my last little bit of cash got spent on a holiday to Majorca lol
zain611
Like the pinstripes. Is it easy to remove the mirror covers? I applied some permanent trim dressing on most of the exterior plastics and that has darkened them that I'm not sure if I want to get them sprayed now. Have to say your centre console looks clean and this is coming from someone who is a little OCD when keeping their car clean 😂. Mines full of dust. Been years since I've been sewing probably the last time was back in secondary school and I'd always worry that the needle would impale my finger whenever I'd use the sewing machine 🤣. @Jonro2009 try searching clean your car.com, I bought their snow foam lance whilst it was on sale I think for around £30. Could also try slim's detailing as they have their own branded one. Don't get those cheap Chinese ones as they aren't reliable. If theres any other cleaning products you're planning on getting just let me know so I could tell you if it's good or not or better alternatives. Hope you enjoy your holiday in majorca. Been there a few years ago and was nice. Luckily didn't stay in magaloo as I heard that's where the young adults like to mess about and you know what theyd mostly think about eh ehm 😂.

zagobir
So, I spent my August Bank Holiday weekend with my dad (and Ford Club GB) at Ford on the Fairway 2, my last show of the season! I finally got him to come along to 'a car thing' and I think now - FINALLY - he understands why I spend lots of time, money and effort on my car. That was a result if nothing else [emoji13] To top the day off, BB won 3rd place in a little competition for the best car on the Ford Club GB stand. There were only about 13 cars in total but to have my efforts and progress collectively recognised was amazing for me! I'm still very chuffed about it all and my piston trophy now has pride of place on my bedroom shelf [emoji16] Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
zagobir
***AUGUST/SEPTEMBER PROGRESS (or set back [emoji23])*** Thought I'd do a seperate post for this and condense all the recent little happenings into one! I really will try and keep this up to date from now on, although I don't see many changes in the near future if I'm honest. Anyway... Picked up some Black in a Flash on my Halfords shopping spree and was pretty impressed with how it transformed what plastics I do have left (after wrapping most of them). Works as a tyre shine too so is well worth the 6 quid or whatever I paid for it! Almost a month on and the results are still admirable so I'm pleased with the temporary fix. Went to get my aircon re-gassed as I'd been putting it off for a while. They only discovered a leak didn't they, so I ended up going home hot and bothered rather than calm and collected! It seems I need a new compressor otherwise I'd supposedly lose my new gas in just a few days [emoji19] Epic fail [emoji777] Just before a day trip to Brighton, I discovered THE largest crack on my windscreen! Another epic fail! [emoji777] Still not sure how it happened and I'm trying so hard not to put it down to vandalism. A certain glass repair/replacement company came down to my workplace today to sort everything out and I now have a nice, shiny new (and extremely bare! ) windscreen. A bit of personality will soon be restored! Old screen: New screen: I was gifted a little Lego Black Panther keyring who has now become a frequent passenger in my car! For now, he chills on my wing mirror button but I need to find somewhere more secure and permanent to keep him [emoji16]
