HI

I just bought a used Ford Fiesta, zetec, 63 plate, petrol, 3dr. Noticed two things No engine cover, No splash guards under the engine. I am wondering are they supposed to be there or no such things for this model. Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks.

There was no engine cover as standard on the 1.0. The engine cover from the 1.0 Focus fits. Not sure about other engine sizes.

Only the diesel version gets the underbody splash guard/tray. But it fits all models. Best purchased from a wreckers as a new one from Ford is expensive.

my 2015 diesel has the big cover under the engine. actually I don't like it as it makes it hard to see if anything is needing attention if you just stick your head under the car.  eg. if there is the beginnings of an oil leak you can't see it starting.  It is a kind of felt/cardboardy type thing, does not give the impression of being durable. Not sure if it is more for protection of components from dirt etc or to give better airflow for the mpg figures. Mine is 'econetic' diesel fiesta which at the time was the most economic (based on the food advertised mpg) petrol or diesel Ford they ever sold so I did wonder if it was purely an airflow item.

Just out of interest, is there anything under the rear of your car for airflow? Like under the fuel tank forward of the rear valance?
