cpubasher
Hello, I've got a 2010 Focus RS which was left with a flat battery for 3 months and after fitting brand new battery it's opened up a can of worms. 1.. both keyfobs won't lock-unlock car but will start vehicle when fob put next to Pats receiver. 2.. Climate control buttons no longer light up and NX unit not responding to climate commands, also temperatures not being displayed. 3.. Rear camera flickering (old fault possibly water ingress. I have tried getting the car into Key program mode but all methods have failed so far. A ForScan error log below. ===PCM DTC P1260-21===Code: P1260 - THEFT Detected, Vehicle Immobilized.Additional Fault Symptom: - Signal is Above Maximum ThresholdStatus: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTCModule: Powertrain Control Module===END PCM DTC P1260-21======MC DTC None===Successful DTC reading, no error codes foundModule: Message Center===END MC DTC None======ABS DTC None===Successful DTC reading, no error codes foundModule: Antilock braking system===END ABS DTC None======HCM DTC None===Successful DTC reading, no error codes foundModule: Headlamp Control Module===END HCM DTC None======EPS DTC None===Successful DTC reading, no error codes foundModule: Electronic-Controlled Power Steering===END EPS DTC None======IC DTC U1900-20===Code: U1900 - CAN communication bus faultStatus: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTCModule: Instrument ClusterDiagnostic Trouble Code detailsCAN Communication Bus Fault - Receive ErrorNote:DTCs that start with 'U' are faults which occur during module-to-module communication.Modules should never be replaced based only on a 'U' code. nazsky786
Did you use correct battery type? No accidental mismatch of positive and negative? When you say it start with keyfob next to pats is that with Blade or not? Looking at codes the car has actually forgotten the keys that are registered to it. My car did same but it did sort itself n it own. You may need keys reprogrammed. And for the air system check all fuses. You may have the wrong battery type, fuses gone, rats got inside the car and made a home for 3 months. But looking at the info without the further details it just a reprogram keys, and a fuse for dual zone climate system.
cpubasher
Hello and thanks for the reply. Main car battery is correct type and special attention was made with polarity when fitting. keyfob will start car when fob is put across steering column pats receiver. The blade receptacle is just a plastic tube and doesn't turn as system uses a start button. key memory: I did try and check in ForScan the key status and it's showing 2x keys registered. I have an ForScan extended licence as well as a Genuine DS150e running 2017.3 software which I think allows PATs programming too. So I'll do what you say and reprogram the keys next week. I will update post with the outcome.... cheers for the help 😀
iantt
pats is ok if it starts car. just relearn the fobs. but looks like you have other issues to still. i would be looking at the bcm. ( fusebox ) for water ingress at connectors and pins on fusebox.
nazsky786
OK, looking at it now then the traditional pats system works. Try placing the fob in the armrest and try starting the car. It maybe the fobs need reprogramming to the KVM Module. Also this sounds like the issue of the car being stood and the key fobs being next to a device that can cause interference and mess up the pair coding. Reprogram the Fobs Keyless system. Then we shall move to any issues that remain.
