has anyone come across an issue with the number plate lamp shining up through the boot and onto the rear screen?

im tempted to just duck tape it so that it doesnt do it any more!!

ive spoken to my local ford dealer but they werent overly helpful and couldnt really shed any light (pardon the pun!!)

on my issue.

i think there may be a shield that is missing. anybody able to help please?

thanks in advance

there is a slight gap but does seem fully clipped in.when you look through the gap there is only light showing from the ns lamp not the os lamp

There is a little cover that goes over the top of the bulb which needs removing to change the bulb, this may have been left off by a previous owner.  If you pop both bulbs out you should see a cover on the OS one.

There should indeed be a black clip-on cover over the back of the light fitting itself.
I had the exact same problem on my old mk2.
Two options-
1 / Buy a replacement from Ford, (I'll dig the details off microcat fot you in a bit) .
2 / Fit these instead, much brighter and no light bleed at all-

Part (Finis) number is 1345778 and about £3.95 each for the lamp shields.-
