I'll probably use one on the dash running strip in the interior. Ah ok. When you said you had 2 i was curious as to how you'd stuck it to the front grill. Wow, I put an 'XR2' vinyl decal on my glove box, on my XR2 in 1982, nice to see the fashion hasn't gone out of style LOL

The application isn't very good and one of the letters has lifted on the corner. If i put this on the car it would be letterless in about a week!! If i try and return this i'm gonna be out of pocket and still have something that wont last that long. Best avoid unless they change the way it's made. The only way i think i can save this is to top coat the thing and prey it doesnt react to the top coat! Pull it off an vinyl wrap it. Am i allowed to post his profile here? How did you gain access to the back of the grill to tighten the bolts up? I have put my own ST Line badge together but can't get to the back of the grill or remove the grill. Help?

My Focus is a much older model, but I'd be surprised if the basic design has changed that radically! There is a slam panel at the front held on by some screws. Undo the screws, then pop out the individual black fittings the screws go into. Then you will be able to remove the slam panel and you can stick your hand in getting access to the grill back...
Darren-mk8
I tried this on mine. But once i removed the bolts holding it in it was still attached somehow and i couldn't see where.
StephenFord
Darren, the fitting may or not be the same as mine, but after removing the screw, you need to pull out the black holder, (Use a flat screwdriver or similar)
Jonro2009
On the mk3.5 they are push pins, not screws but exactly the same principle as described above

Put my fingers between the grill holes. A bit tricky to fit the nut at the begining but once its on its pretty easy, Also i put double nut just to be sure!
VFR800
I've top coated mine and am happy with the results. Rattle can of Plasti-kote gloss, about 10 coats with a 1200 wet and dry before last coat. A few dust spots caught in the last coat the rest is static dust.

Darren-mk8
Here's what i did with mine. Cut a piece of steel to shape, drilled a couple of holes. Ended up wrapping the steel plate as the paint finish wasn't ideal.

Ironic, as all my cars over the decade I have always de-badged, including an RSTurbo, XR2, XR3i, 205GTi, Celica GT4 etc, but my lowly modest LX got an ST badge in tribute to my name as I couldn't get a 'Stephen' anywhere LOL 🤣
