I have read a lot saying if your item has a fault it don't need to be in a box as its a ''fault'' but say i don't like the item and return it in the 16 day policy you need the

box and original packing..................Is this the case as no way can we keep 50+ boxes and polystyrene inserts its mad.

Mine are all going unless i need it to send back like amazon,i have loads that are put flat and just sick of them.

Before disposing or i should say recycling the packaging of popular items; i suggest you check on eBay to see if that particular packaging is a selling item,

I know that people buy&sell PlayStation packaging, possibly for instances where they want the item to appear as being new; for santa delivery or birthday gift

I've seen iPhone boxes go for as much £20, which is quite remarkable for what is a small cardboard box!

50+ boxes?  How much stuff have you bought in the last 12 months?

I keep boxes for expensive electricals, xbox, laptop, phone etc.  They're all well out of warranty now but it's still useful for moving house or selling the items when replacements are bought.  I've sold quite a few spares/repairs items on eBay, they sell better with boxes and instructions.  I would assume that's why iPhone boxes sell for so much, someone buys the box and a separate scrap phone, repairs the phone and can then sell it for a premium on eBay with the box...

I don't bother for cheap items, £10 toaster for example, not worth keeping the box, I wouldn't return it for that price and won't sell if it breaks, just dump it, if I move it's not likely to get damaged in transit either.

I keep motherboard and video card boxes for that: everything else gets shredded as a compost ingredient.

Although bigger boxes can also be used to line the recycling wheelie bin: keeping the bin interior pristine.  The boxes Pipper's chicken carcases come in are an exact fit for the wheelie bin like bespoke liners:smile:

I have loads over years and in the shed and loft,i aint counted them but not over 12 months over years as extended cover 3 or 5 years i just put them flat.

And also i do keep a few large ones for moving house or moving/storing items but some are 2 years cover like toasters/kettles and stuff.
