2008 Titanium X bulb type

Evening all,

My headlights are starting to look a bit dim, so I checked on a couple of parts websites to see what bulbs I needed to buy.

One place said I had xenons but another said I had standard bulbs. Without taking the lamp unit out, is there a way to see?

I tried looking on Etis for the spec but couldn't see anything. The car is fitted with follow me home headlights and the beam is off white which makes me think it has standard bulbs.

Appreciate any responses.

ETIS should say either halogen headlamps or high intensity discharge headlamps.

If you have xenon's they will self level (no level switch on dash) and have headlight washers on the bumper.

I thought the mk4 TitX would have Xenon's but may not.

Ditto, it would be pretty poor on Ford's part to not include Xenon's on a MK4 Tit X Mondeo.

Just to add to the confusion, I checked the 2 2008 TitXs on Autotrader...they have projectors, but not headlight washers - so not xenons.  ETIS calls them 'advanced lighting system' but they seem to be halogen.  Not sure what makes them advanced though...

In Ford's eyes they are more "Advanced" because people paid £££ extra for them

  Well projectors do look better than reflectors tbf... :whistling:

On a serious note though, they appear to be adaptive lights, not sure why you wouldn't fit HIDs when going to all that effort but someone may know...Wilco must do!  Half way down this page...

So just to recap @Oldbeforemytime, they are halogen as standard, not xenon.
