New Fiesta with Sync 3 query

Featured Replies

Bought my new Fiesta in September. I use the sat nav daily.

Should the sat nav screen display traffic congestion by way of showing the road in red?

My colleagues have new Focus's and say their Sat navs do.

Thank you

If you install Ford Pass on your phone and set it up to show traffic info.

Thanks I'll try this.

Once set up you will see the live traffic icon in the navigation settings.

Thank you. I've installed and registered on Ford Pass.

The dealer never mentioned this. Also my colleagues don't have this installed.

Is there any annual charge for the traffic info?

I've installed the Ford Pass and registered.

I don't see the screen above at all.

Does it not use the traffic broadcast?

My Sync 2 shows traffic without any mobile connection.

I believe it displays rdstmc traffic via fm but the Ford pass version covers more roads at a higher level of detail

So this should connect via Bluetooth?

Cheers

Tap on 'My Vehicle' and on next page tap the car image then you'll see the Live Traffic tab.
The traffic alerts show on the nav screen as icons which when tapped on will show relevant information.

Sorted 😀

Now the GPS icon is showing on the screen with a line through it. It's okay when I go back to the car and restart it?

Had this lose of GPS notification on mine early in its life. Like you returned after a restart of the car. Also once when I was diverted off the M4 into Newport due to roadworks  it got completely confused even though it was the sat nav that diverted me off..I cancelled the route and received a message saying cancelling route which remained until I got to motorway services. When I restarted the car it was back up and running on my previous selected route

GPS notification was fine today.

Ford Pass is an improvement. Shame Google maps won't work via Bluetooth. Buying a brand new car with enhanced 8 inch screen and then connecting it to my phone via a cable isn't shouting hi tech

Thank you to all those who posted and helped 😀

Good god cars are getting so complicated. What's wrong witg good the old 30 minute traffic update on the local radio station. Failing that google maps loaded on your phone in a cradle.

You can't even change a bulb without having to take the whole unit off the car it seems nowadays. Why can't people be more like the cubans, they literally had to build their own spare parts at home, or find something at a scrapyard. None of this go to buy an alternator from ebay stuff.
