adamdunnet
Hello all! I've just bought a 64 plate fiesta (titanium ecoboost) and today I noticed that the fan is kicking in as soon as I start the engine. I was under the impression that the fan shouldn't start until the engine gets a bit warmer. Is this unusual or is it a ford/fiesta thing? It's still under the 3 month warranty so if there's something wrong I should be able to get it seen to.
Fiesta1.25
Is your air con switched on? If it is then it’s normal for your fan to be on.

This will usually come on if the heating is in the windscreen de-mist position, regardless of anything else. And the fan will run if the a/c is on. Otherwise it should not run until the engine gets really quite hot. Hotter than just the thermostat operating temperature. Also check the temperature gauge. A faulty CH sensor could make it come on. It will waste fuel if the fan is always running, not much maybe, but some!
