Battery and car standing for 2 days.

Featured Replies

I don't do any miles and car can be standing covered in a car port/garage for 2 or 3 days and also being colder now but

i went to start it and battery was flat, not just a click it turned over but very slow and not enough to start so booster had to do it.

What works when car is locked to drain it in 3 days, sure a battery don't go flat if left for a week, next door goes on holiday for 2 weeks and always starts.(09 honda jazz)

I lock the car so alarm on,tracker which turns to std.by after 10 mins,is there anything else as car is inside so no wind/rain getting into it.

Sounds like your battery is on its way out, not holding a charge.... take it to a garage that you trust and ask them to check the health of the battery. I have a 60 plate fiesta and mine was doing exact same, I replaced the battery and it’s been fine since

Cheers was thinking this, its under a locked car port so like a garage with front and back gates what open and sides are blocked all the while.

It went for a service 6 months ago and said nothing or would they check this.

update.........went down my local chemix Autocentre and got me a Numax battery with 3 year warranty which i don't think is that bad.

Checking up on this make and seems a dam good make like 4.5 to 5 stars so it was pot luck as its my local garage.

Battery was no good, they checked it then checked it under load which i think means turn everything on like lights/heater/radio etc and gone.

A lot of batteries die when the weather turns cold. they can be on their way out for some time but hang on in there when the weather is not too bad but some sudden sub-zero temps finish it off once and for all.  A battery works inside by chemical reaction, Chemical reactions slow down when the temp is lower
