At the moment ain't going to do much mods / work as I don't know if I can keep my car for long due to the government. I am going to change the driver side window regulator again as I changed it last year Feb and recently I believe the cable snapped as I can hear the motor move but not the window. Looks like a nice little car shame if you have to get rid would look good on a set of st wheels and a TCR front splitter

Due to the government? They after you like James bond now? Or do you mean the MOT? Because over here in Ireland we have the NCT National Car Test, Its a contracted company based in Spain, they don't test vehicles in compliance with the Irish law they test them under European law, This differs in some ways such as tinted front windows, Irish law allows up to 20% on front where the NCT don't allow any, So cops won't fine you or say anything but when it comes to NCT they will, Overall then if the UK leave the EU soon then criteria could change on your MOT requirements as they are not obliged to comply. zain611
@Lenny @Dave sport tdci the London mayor wants to set up an Ultra low emissions zone in central London this April. Diesel cars made before 2015 and petrols made before 2005 will be charged £12.50 a day when they drive into the zone. The main thing which will affect a lot of people is they want to expand it to the whole of London in 2021. People like me and so many others may not have the money to get a non compliant diesel car or afford to run a petrol. Small business such as hiring diesel vans may not afford newer vans as this thing will decrease the value of these cars. Recently I heard the Conservative party head will stop the expansion if we elect him in the general elections so hope the elections happens before 2021. There's a petition on change.org about stopping this expansion and it has near 75k signatures. They are saying this charge is to try and decrease pollution however the cycle lanes they are building and narrowing the roads have increased pollution due to increased traffic plus the talk about opening a third runway in Heathrow won't help either. Its a stealth tax.
Lenny
Sorry for this rant now mate but; Similar things over here with wind farms, they cost more to maintain than the energy they produce, putting them in rural areas which is dividing communities as the people don't want them there, Also the introduction of 5G in rural communities which will eliminate face to face communication and interaction, meaning people will lose confidence in speaking out as a group, Resulting in government having more power due to the elimination of physical protests because everyone is signing online petition instead of getting together in protest. Our government signed a deal in Morocco last November to bring in 1,200 migrants per week, not called immigrants anymore, putting them in hotels which were taken by the banks during recession times, Immigrants whom hate the Irish and Catholics, there killing Catholics in there own country and our government is taking them in under an EU agreement, Our news broadcasts are filtered to disguise this carry on there using brexit reports to blindfold what's going on under our nose in our own country, but we can still see the internet and see it happening in local hotels, My mates wife is social welfare manager and confirmed entering hotels to register the occupants for unemployment benefits
zain611
Last week opened up the door card again. Sadly it's not the window regulator that was gone but the tooth of the electric motor snapped. Now have to find a replacement.
zain611
Bought a few things as stuff was going wrong. Want to thank @TomsFocus and @Fiesta1.25 for help with diagnosing the problems. You guys might not believe the date of the window motor. Might got lucky. The window switch has a little image which the original one hasn't but not too bothered about it. Got a second hand passenger window switch, driver window motor and new boot solenoid. Yesterday fitted everything. I also fitted a new reversing camera to replace the other one. Starting with the motor. Old on the left, new second hand one on the right. Can clearly see how rusty the old one was. The new one is dated 2014 so only 5 years old. With the switch, fitted the new one and now looks like the window is working now. With the solenoid the original one has lost its function and struggles to retract. New one works a lot better, better than when I bought the car. New (left), old (right) Finally fitted a new camera in Old New
zain611
Really nice little touch up I did using a white board pen. The S badge has lost its red colour and was thinking of buying a new one but guys on the forum gave me an idea of just using a red pen. I think those are cheaper than what I saw a while back. At the moment with this ULEZ charge rubbish I don't want to spend money on little stuff like this (although I'll make some exceptions) as I don't know how much longer I can keep the car. zain611
Bit late but some cleaning pictures from last or the week before. Added angelwax H2GO glass sealant on. Has helped the water bead off however sometimes the wipers slightly judder. Application Results

The paint had a good machine polishing last year which really brought it back. I want to sort out the headlights. Never tried it before so a little worried but if it comes out great the car will look just about mint.

Lenny
Any plans to fit a hybrid turbo? https://nbstyling.co.uk/product/hybrid-turbo-fiesta-1-6-tdci-90hpfocus-1-6-tdci-110hp-peugeot-1-6-hdi-mini-1-6d-volvo-1-6d/
zain611
Kind of a big thing but restored the headlights on the car. Never sanded before so was scared but managed to do it. Thanks to @TomsFocus and @Luke4efc for guidance 👍. The headlights weren't in a good state. They were hazy mainly from the top half and that obstructed a bit of light from the sidelight. The right headlight had a mark where someone had tried to restore it however gave up as you can see. Removed the headlights from the car This is the equipment used. Used this air powered DA type of device. Then started with one. Started with 1000 grit sandpaper. Then the next one. Managed to smoothen out that mark. Then moved to 3000 grit. Left had 3000 grit. Did make it a little clearer. Then sprayed clear coat on them. Finishing pictures. Looked a whole lot better than before just about looks new. On the car Topped up the PAS fluid also whilst the headlight was off for easier access. Its green just for anyone to know 👍

Luke4efc
If you put nice thick layers of laquer on then give them a quick machine polish (if you have one of course) and they'll come out even more gleaming.

If I was able to at least I'd get a standard map adding 30hp and 70nm. Was thinking later if I could get the 110hp injectors and turbo but wondering if its worth it for the price of those parts plus the performance gains. The gains are only 25 more horsepower compared to a standard map.

I'm still waiting for my uncle to give my machine polisher back 😂. I was thinking of sanding them with 3000 grit then polishing it over to remove the orange peel but they just look so nice the way they are compared to how they were before.
