LondonFiesta
With these holders I got they just clip in so no security. I wanted just a discreet slim plate holder so it looks clean near enough the same as if I stuck it on. LondonFiesta that's scary as I live in North London. Would of thought It would be less likely for someone to take a private plate. Had my car for over 2 years and haven't had a problem with plates but you never know. I might stick some adhesive pads on the holder to hold it on tighter. Might not do much but it's something. The police have a few theories, mainly the plates get used for transporting stolen cars as the thieves know that you’ve taxed and insured it so ANPR won’t ping. Also for ringing but less likely. The annoying thing is the amount of parking tickets, congestion charge and being pulled over that happens. I sorted it last time by being issued a new reg by DVLA for free. Haven’t seen anything on the last set (diff car) but no doubt I’ll get pulled over loads. Can’t complain as they are doing their job but it’s always tense until they get the crime ref as they don’t know whether you’re the criminal or not.
Jonro2009
What's the thinking behind private plates not being stolen? I can't see the logic in it, a plate is a plate. If they are going to clone a car then it really doesn't matter what the VRM is as long as it matches the car they have chosen to put it on. TomsFocus
Private plates attract attention so more likely to draw a traffic cops eye. They're also more memorable, if you spot some dodgy driving without a camera around you're more likely to be able to relay that plate to the police than any old generic 'AK64 FRG' etc...

With me I don't think I park in secluded places but you never know with people.
zain611
Hopefully tomorrow will fit the plates on. Today had a go trying to remove polish residue off the textured plastic on the roof. Used a toothbrush and soapy water. Looks to have removed most of it. Also cleaned the leather and hoovered the carpets
zain611
Private plate fitted on the dezentofix plate holder. Am actually a little nervous about the holders. Back one looks good. The side and bottom hooks are over the plate. The top hooks are just on the edge of the plate which gets me however if I try to move the plate up in the holder it doesn't budge so must be set in place and won't be going anywhere. Now the front holder seems to give more of a worry to me. All hooks are on however the top hooks are not. The front is curved which gives this problem. Fitted double sided tap on the springs which push the plate to the hooks so those hopefully help keep it in place. Only way it'll come out is up which Id wonder how. zain611
So from here you can see the top hooks are out from the front however the side and bottom hooks are in. Rear plate the top hooks are just grabbing the plate and the other ones on the side and bottom are holding it. Is this something to worry about? Good thing is the plate isn't able to move up when I push it up on both front and back so hopefully shows its secured. Front plate has tape on the springs which make contact to the plate 😩. Jonro2009
The front plate is the one that is likely to come off if either one is going to, just due to the fact it hits the oncoming air. i would say that as long as their isn’t some tape on the back of the plate and the holder you will be ok. It has to be direct contact though

It's most likely that the curvature of the front bumper causing it to pull out from the top hooks however it's securely in the side and bottom hooks. The double sided tape is on these springs (labelled below) which push up against the plate. Dad clamped the plate down for a good 2 hours so the tape made proper contact behind and hopefully set behind. The rear because its more flat is making contact on all hooks. The top hooks just are contacting the plate however I'm not able to budge them with I push it up so hopefully they are secure. Same thing with the front
zain611
Dad took the car today to get the tracking done. The tire which was changed recently was worn more in the inner side so ment the tracking was off. A few days ago the front joints were loosened so the tracking place try not to say they want to charge more because it was difficult for them to loosen it. Because of that the tracking was noticeably off where the steering wheel was at an angle when the wheels were straight. Before tracking After tracking The rear wheels were okay and the tire wear is balanced so wasn't worth adjustment. Can now drive with a straight steering wheel again 😂. Did notice it drank a bit more fuel in the time I was driving the car with the tracking more off. Next is the MOT
zain611
Took the car MOT yesterday afternoon. Passed with just one minor about the front driverside brake hose corroded which is a easy fix. Found out my private plate means w**ker in Turkish 😂
zain611
I also won a little giveaway from a YouTuber. Won a little sticker. Check out his channel R23 OWL if you like mk6 fiesta STs 👍. Was the third person picked. Sticker arrived yesterday Fitted on today. First sticker I put on the car and I actually like it. Like the contrast between the white sticker and tinted windows. Desperately needs a clean. Want to get it cleaned before I start my masters end of the month as I won't have time to clean until the Christmas holidays.

Nice to meet another mk6 zetec s owner 👍. I did a guide on how I did mine about 2 pages back. 1000 to 3000 grit wet sand then I sprayed UV resistant clear coat on. Looks like new. The clear coat finish wasn't great as there was some runs at the bottom however I don't even notice it when looking normally at the headlights.

Yeah, would be very keen to meetup sometime 🙂 Are Zetec S common or few and far between?

Well they are rarer than STs when you look for them on sale however the funny thing is I see more zetec s than STs on the road. Never really done a meet up before but if you need any help you could just private message me through the forum or look through this thread for any ideas 👍

zain611
Gave it a good clean on Thursday. Sealed, waxed and also used a spray on ceramic sealant. Was really beading well. So well that after a short drive all the water came off looking as if there was no water at all.
zain611
Won another competition 😃. Hopefully will be getting some black lego dust covers. Shout out to FF04ORD for the competition. zain611
Haven't updated in a while however I put the lego dust caps on. Sadly not long ago one of the tires went flat so had to change it at the hospital car park as that was were I was headed. Need to now inspect that and hope it doesn't need changing. zain611
Following on from the tire which lost air I think it was the lego dust caps. I took it off that wheel and put the standard one on and it hasn't lost any air since. Gave it a nice clean whilst I cleaned the car. Car had been cleaned to protect during the winter. Paintwork still looks immaculate from the year before I machine polished it 😁
zain611
Bought these autobeam performance LED sidelights as my 4 year old ones are beginning to go wrong. Hopefully will be miles brighter 😊. Current ones. Will replace them soon
zain611
So put the new performance autobeam sidelights in. Comparison between them and the old bulbs I had. These were some cheap eBay ones but lasted about 4 years. Old bulbs. Can see the front diodes stopped working. Fitted in the new bulbs Definitely brighter and does blind you but isn't as bright as the performance indicators and brake lights. Still recommend them though hoping the brightness doesn't cost in durability
