I've no idea what's happened here especially as I'm assuming both bulbs have separate fuses on my Focus 2005 1.6LX.

The left side 55w H7 dipped beam went so I replaced it but now both sides won't come on!

What just happened!?

Thanks and hope you can help.

Did you replace them without touching the glass? You could've blown them by touching the glass

To be honest, I may have done so on the replacement. Is it that sensitive?

I don't think I took out the good one (and therefore touched it) but I did take off the cover of that side, removed the clip and pulled off the connection. The reason for doing this is because, on the side that is near to the battery, you can't see squat and so you have to feel your way!

I played about with the good side so I could see how it's done. I guess one should take out the whole unit but it can be done by pulling down the clip on the covers.

Thanks.

**UPDATE**

I've changed both bulbs and then tested the same bulb in each socket for good measure.

I am back to the begining - where the one that orginally went out is still not working.

I swapped & tested the fuses but same result.

What would be the next step - apart from taking ti to a garage?

Thanks.
