2003 1.8 MP3 Focus starting problem

So. I go to my mum's the other day, Car's fine. in fact I make a better run home than normal. I park the car up and go in.

Next morning the car turns over but won't fire. It's done this a couple of times before but i've taken the key out and restarted and it's been fine.

Any idea what this might be?

How old is the battery ?

With it being so cold the voltage drops.

do you mean a) the starter motor is turning the engine at a good speed but the engine does not fire up    or    b) the engine is turning at a sluggishly / struggling?

if (a) then it's not the battery. I think you mean (a) - that's how I read it.
