Misfire Cured 2006 1.25 Style Climate

Featured Replies

I give up, I’m very confused.

I’ve been fighting with misfires for a couple of years now and replaced all the usual suspects like plugs, coil pack and cured water leaking into the spark plug cavity.

Then I got a new misfire at idle and lack of power on the motorway unless I was flat out.

Diagnosis and speaking to a Ford tech pointed to the throttle body which is expensive so I was holding off from the purchase till after Xmas.

Then the battery started failing so I had to replace it (original 2006 battery)

Ever since the misfire is not there anymore ??

How does a battery cure a misfire?????

I don’t get it !

Not enough juice for it to give the spark plugs enough spark I guess.

11 years is very good for a car battery.

If it comes back clean the throttle body rather than replacing it. I doubt it will have a fault that can't be fixed by cleaning.
