JONATHAN_11_80 Posted December 27, 2017 Share Posted December 27, 2017 Hi, I have a 2010 Ford Focus 1.8 with 71,000 I have noticed for a while that the engine sounded rough and bit rattly when revving through 2000 - 3000 rpm range while driving. Recently after I changed the oil after 6 months and 5000 miles I noticed on holding the rpm and pulsing the rpm between 2000 - 2200 the engine had a light rattly knocking noise similar to big end knock but not as heavy. I have noticed on pressing the clutch in its gets louder and have noted on disconnecting the vac lines to the inlet manifold solenoid that noise reduces but doesn't disappear totally. The car has been well maintained since I bought car when it was 2 years old and has had oil changes every 6 months and has never used any oil between oil changes which is checked weekly.
