TomsFocus
I'm pretty sure no one scrolls down as far as the wanted section lol... But I'm after one if anyone's breaking a mk3? I guess they're all the same but it's for a Titanium. Not even sure how anyone managed to break it...but it turns out they're £55 new. I thought about gluing it but it'll just collapse again next time I press the fog button, didn't notice for a few days, was wondering how bad the newer ford build quality was for the switch to be so loose lol. Fkuk
Mines broken in the exact same way. I'm 6ft 2 and I think it's from smashing my knee into it when getting in

TomsFocus
For future reference, the lower plastic trim around the switch can be removed from the vent easily, though you can't purchase them separately new. Searching eBay for Mk3 headlight switches brings up a few that are still in the surround so I bought one of them. If anyone needs a non-auto light switch I have one for sale lol. Thanks to Ian, who immediately disassembled his own car when I asked, I could see just how simple it was to swap them over, even for someone like me that usually breaks anything made of plastic lol. Have to pull off the side dash panel first and remove a T20 torx holding the vent in. Push the light switch out into the car from where the dash cubby and OBD port is, unplug and remove it. Push the vent out forward. Carefully unclip the vent grill from the duct. Then you can unclip the lower switch trim panel and swap it for the replacement. And refitting is a reverse of removal as Haynes would say.

Can happen if more than one driver is using the car and the other is shorter. I used to drive my mum's Focus occasionally and caught my knee on the light controls sometimes as she has the seat stupidly close to the steering wheel. Hi Leo, I'm afraid this was nearly 5 years ago now. I no longer have any Mk3 parts.
