Windscreen blower not working

Featured Replies

Hi

can anyone advise and help please...

my windscreen blower is not working-there is no air coming from the central vent in front of the windscreen.

all the other vents seem to be working fine and I have lovely toasty warm air on my feet (nice ) and face (not nice) but nothing when set to the windscreen

I can hear the fan blowing fine when it’s set to windscreen but there’s no air coming out at all - it’s am causing an irritation with digging up in the winter rain.

what can I do to get the air blowing back on he windscreen...I did a search on the  forum and all I got was a weird argument in a thread about fuel and quickclear windscreens!!!

when you turn the dial to alter which vents the air is directed through does it change anything at all?   does the dial feel loose like it's come disconnected from  the flaps that it needs to open and close deep in the dashboard.  does the button for air recirculation work. If I am picturing the controls correctly that button is in the middle of the big dial for the vents

It does feel a bit looser than say from feet to face level...there’s a bit of resistance but not as much as the other changes of vent direction when moving to windscreen only mode...

the fan is still blowing full on...but even with the direction set to windscreen only, air still comes from face and feet vents...and nowt at all from the central windscreen vent...

i assume somethings come disconnected.

I do not know the exact layout in the dashboard.

If mine I would get my head up by the pedals looking towards centre of car to see if there are any moving parts you can see that relate to heater controls. and also remove glovebox and have a look from that angle also. Well not eaxctly remove glovebox, but I think from memory you can empty glovebox and then kind of push the sides in to release it so it hinges open futher down towards the floor

The fan will blow the same. When you select where you want the air to blow, the only change is the vent doors open/close as appropriate. I'm guessing that the door deep in the dash got stuck and the cable has come off.

As said above you might be able to access it by removing the glovebox and see anything obvious.
