Hi all,

I have a Fiesta 1.4, 2005

When I start it in a cold morning, it starts okay then a few seconds later stalls.

Once stalled, if i simply restart it everything works fine!

Does anyone have any ideas???

Why isn't revving upon start up? Your foot isn't on the loud pedal , is it?

Nope, not touching any pedals

Throttle body getting stuck? Try giving it a clean out.

ok thanks for the advice, I will take a look over the weekend and get back to you.

yeah take the throttle body off and give it a thorough clean, i had the same issue with mine, didnt even need to disconnect the wiring, just undid the screws and give it a blast top to bottom with carb cleaner, good as new after (dont forget to disconnect the battery though!) just the black negative will do

Sorry for the delay in getting back on this, it took a turn for the worse!!

Driving down the road and it stalled. Restarted it okay and it stalled again a few seconds later.

Dash board then flashed "EAC FAIL" :-(

I connected an OBDII into it and got the following:

(WARN) DTCs in PCM: P1000-70
(WARN) DTCs in PCM: P0107-E0, P1000-70
(WARN) DTCs in OBDII: P0107-P
(WARN) DTCs in PCM: P0107-E0, P2108-60, P1000-70

I have not as yet cleaned the throttle body as this came up just before I was going to do it.

Any thoughts? Is it still likely to be this that needs doing or something more sinister.

P1000 just means the codes have been cleared.

P0107 is MAP sensor fault. Most of the time you can fix this by cleaning the MAP sensor out as it gets clogged up with dust/dirt/debris from the road.

P2108 comes up as Throttle Actuator Control Module, so maybe Throttle Position Sensor knackered? I'd try cleaning the MAP sensor first though

The map sensor fault code could be caused by a throttle body fault, so I’d suspect there is nothing wrong with the map sensor. 

I’d probably start at the throttle body and go from there. Diagnostic data regarding the throttle body would also be helpful. Such as desired and actual throttle position.

I have cleaned the throttle body and it has worked perfectly!

The engine light has cleared itself without the need to use the ODBII diagnostic software.
