MK 2 (2007) Cigarette Lighter

Afternoon all,

The cigarette lighter on my MK2 is not working.

I have seen few threads that say if the radio is working then it is not the fuse.

I am pretty rubbish with cars so could do with some guidance.

Check fuse 39 under the glovebox.

I'd read some how you can configure from always live 12v, to ignition switched live, by playing with the fuse position.... but then couldn't find out if correct or what positions you need...

 

as is, always live is a ***** idea

Heard it, don't see how it is possible from the wiring diagram. Either use a fuse tap and run a new live wire, or a relay.

I believe the mk3 Mondeo had the option of swapping from permanent to switched but definitely not heard of it on any Focus model.
A new feed from a switched circuit and a fusetap is the only option.
