Help finding part number please

Featured Replies

After reading so much about cooling issues with the 1.0, I've started looking for a radiator upgrade but can't find one. I'm in the US and don't know where to find Ford UK part numbers, so I was hoping someone could help.

Are the radiators for the 140hp 1.0 and the 125hp 1.0 the same? If not, can someone share the 140hp radiator part number please?

Thanks so much!

It's not the radiator that is the problem.

They've fixed a few things. On the Focus it had hard plastic return pipes which got brittle and split, don't know if Fiesta ever had that issue.

They now fit all 1.0s with electric overrun pumps to keep the coolant going after the engine is switched off. Have you looked under the bonnet after switching off to see if the coolant is still moving?

They also added/moved a temperature sensor to more reliably monitor the temp in the event of coolant loss.

As yours is a 2015 I'd expect most if not all improvements would be included.

Indeed a bigger radiator won't fix the problem.

Some engines people fit massive radiators, billet water pumps etc. and it still won't solve the issue if there's something wrong with the engine. If you're leaking fluid everywhere or the combustion fumes are entering the cooling system because you're head is cracked,  there's not a radiator in the world that will fix it.

The idea is to prevent this from happening, not as a retroactive measure. I'm interested to see if my car does have the fixes mentioned above.

rads are the same regardless of hp.

On the European Fiesta MK7.5  1.0 ECOboost engine the additional cylinder head temperature sensor is installed from production date 02-02-2015. Vehicles produced before this date do only have the coolant temperature sensor.

I do not know if this is also applicable to the USA Fiesta MK7.5  1.0 ECOboost. USA Ford models that are based on an European Ford model are usually 1 (sometimes even 2) Years behind.

@jenkinsmitchell for ford parts numbers Google ( ford oem parts numbers ) then add us/uk after it you can find almost any part number depending if it's still made by ford.

Retroactive?

Anyway all getting a bigger radiator will do is mean the thermostat stays open for less time. The thermostat controls the temperature of the engine, and the overheating issues were mostly down to failed coolant piping, whist went brittle, burt losing all the coolant therefore destroying head gasket which cooked the engine.

The one fitted from the factory is plenty to cool that engine, getting a bigger one won't fix anything and you would struggle to fit it.

If you’re running a FMIC you could potentially fit an ST radiator, or ST aftermarket one from Mountune or Mishimoto. You’d need custom hoses though.

A cheaper option is to run a OBD2 temp gauge (I have an UltraGauge) so you can see that the temp is actually doing. Ensure your coolant reservoir is serviceable as these leak and/or fracture, and your hoses are serviceable.
