ST Steering clonk

Featured Replies

Evening,

I seem to have a fault with my 40,000 mile 63 reg Fiesta ST-2, unmodified. Tried a search but unable to find anything specific to this.

When I start the car up in the morning/leaving work,  and pull away I can hear and feel a clonk in the steering.

But then it's fine.

Only seems to be after it's been standing for hours. I've done full lock left-right to get to test but nothing.

Any ideas?

Needs to go in the air, check everything for security and play.

Do you only hear this noise when the steering is a certain angle or does it make no difference?

Is it after you use the brakes for the first time.

The mk2 2.5 focus used to clonk but it was something to do with the abs system checking
