noise from front nearside wheel

Hi all

Wondered if any of you knew what could be causing the below?

When stationary, engine on, and turning the wheel a strange grinding/grumbling noise is coming from the front nearside wheel. It happens when in motion or stationary and turning the wheel.

I have jacked the car up and the wheel spins freely, actually the wheel bearing has only recently been replaced.

The spring looks fine also.

Sounds like the top mount, there is a bearing at the top of the suspension strut, this may be seized.

Check the ball joint too. I had one fail once whilst driving. Fortunately it was very low speed.
