sometimes handbrake comes right to end of travel othertimes just four or five clicks and its perfect  my focus 1.8tdci is on rear discs

I had this on our old  focus. I will be a failing rear brake caliper. You can get an exchange unit from Eurocar parts and are fairly straight forward to fit.
