  1. Well had a Fiesta metal for 5mths, and was impressed by it.Walked into my local show room last week and the new ST in Molten Orange was sat looking at me, decided that was a the car me, so did a deal and purchased it. The ST is AWESOME :D :D Find attached a couple of Pictures. You have to drive this car, words do not do it justice. If your getiing one you will not be dissapointed.

  3. I brought mine cash :) i was saving up for a focus St an had a test drive but did'nt think it that sporty looking with 5 doors an even with my dad being a Ford pensioner they weren't discounting them much last year but the Fiesta St has better offers as i had an email in January saying first 20 orders on st1 for £13,995 on the road an made my enquiries . I got a dealer discount of £1638 off list plus my Ford discount an paid under £15,900 on the road for my white st2 with climate , style pack was free and it was my present to myself after losing my job in December also paid cash for my last couple of cars as well :) don't do finance nowadays and save up plus you get wiser as you get older with me being 49 not wanting things on the never never .

  6. That would make sense - if you look at the competition, the Astra comes as 5-door hatch or 3-door Coupe, the Megane has a similar set up, and I don't think the new Golf comes as a 3-door because of the Scirocco (which co-incidently is a name from the 80's, so Ford bringing back the Capri name could work). I do like the look of the new Fiesta ST and I'm sure it's a bloomin good car, but personally I'd go for a 6 month old Focus ST. It would be similarly priced as a Fiesta, and as said above is a lot more metal for the money. It'll be built better and have a level of 'plushness' that I reckon the Fiesta lacks in comparison :)

  7. ;) You could of borrowed mine lastweek lol as didn't use it all week , only got it out of the garage today an had some fun mainly in 2nd , 3rd and 4th gears with the window down listening to the turbo and that throaty roar in the cabin with out making you too jealous :D cars come up behind you an then you cog it down or just use the torque an they disappear getting smaller in ya rear view mirror The first day i got mine i change those horrible yellow number plate lights an put my Led canbus ones in an they look really cool beaming down to the ground over tailgate , rear bumper and on the rear lower panel :)

  8. Did you see i posted some pix today of my white one lol i have done 283 mls in mine an cleaned it a week ago so not looked at that rear lower panel yet but think it will pick up dust , dirt an exhaust soot etc plus tar like the tailgate does and side skirts being white as this is my 4th white car now with my previous ones needing some elbow grease to clean sometimes .

  9. Wow, the sunlight shot And it is nice to know that father and son have good taste in cars. My dad has the MK1 RS ;) Wish mine would hurry up!

  10. I got £7,500 for my Colt (£3,200 profit!) and sold my Mini to the salesman for £7,000 dead, paid £1200 in cash, £2,000 finance so I could get my £500 off. Could say I've paid £8,200 in cash, but to me I swapped 2 cars and £3k for my new toy lmao.

  11. Thanks for all the advice chaps , I would prefer originals rather than replicas. Probably will buy 2 rims then save up then buy next 2 . My credit card would prefer to buy them all at once let's see if I can't resist!!!
    1 point
  12. I thought so, thanks, just I've seen on other forums people comparing them and I don't understand why? As you said they are completely different cars? Anyway your pair do look stunning together! A question I have for you owners is so far, how much tar does that bottom painted bit of the rear spoiler on the back above the exhaust pick up? I am only just thinking about that as mine is white!!

  13. DO you find yourself comparing the ST to the RS at all? Or do you accept them both on their own unique merits? Mate, as good as the ST is, it doesn't come close to the RS, that thing is in its own league.

  14. got a few little mods out the way, fitted some universal mud flaps, they was a bit long though n needed a chunk hacking off the front flaps cause they was sitting to low and couldnt reverse out the drive without em scraping i've also sprayed the front fog surrounds in gloss black and flyeyed the front fog units themselves. will also be doing the rear fog surrounds in gloss black too i personally think it improves the front making it look more stealthy n making the most of the horrible front bumper as much as i can. i really dont like that the standard mk2 front bumper doesnt have a proper lower grill like the 2.5 just need to do summin about the grey trim of the bottom of the bumper now, may take it off at some point to colour code or fit an ms lip as i dont think i'll be fitting an st front bumper few more shots

  16. I caught a Mk1 RS napping the first night i drove mine as i see him an his mate in a mk5 fiesta with twin pipes going into a roundabout an set after them , i came off the roundabout an took the rs outbraking him into the next rounabout on a short daul carraigeway but got stuck behind the fiesta ! The rs soon worked out what i was driving an was on my tail but i was then about to turn into my road and as i indicated he double falshed his headlights so he must have been impressed or pee'd off with me outsmarting him ;) i am still a boyracer at 49 an not scared by speed as i use to also ride 180/190mph sports bikes :) i even still play xbox360 forza motorsport 4 and horizon lol boys and toys i think

  17. please note the replicas are cheap but not as strong as the originals by a long way, i have originals shown in first pic on my 2010 ,only just fitted today & look ok. yunii

  19. £750ish I think for the colour, but worth it in my opinion seeing the Style Pack was the only option I wanted, and that was thrown in. Got no discount, but only ended up paying £1,200 in total cash wise.

  21. Gel overlays from dmb to freshen up your ford badges, on the grill rear and wheel centre caps. They are Brill. New fitted mats always make the inside look nice, get a nice deep heavy pile one like u get in new BMWs. Plain black shortened aerial ? Not a Barry Chav chrome ripspeed one, just a nice short one to make it look slicker.

  22. I hadn't driven mine all week until today and did have some fun in it :) i had the window down and heard the turbo whooshing , its a lovely sound an you just want to rev it more and more ! Every one looks at you wen you are driving about as i see 2 focus st225's out today and one crept up behind me so i waited until the national speed limit appeared an cogged it ito 3rd from 40 an just blasted away , he didn't want to play thou unless he didn't want to embarass himself :D

  25. In that case you need this link for a 2.5- http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/tutorials/article/52-diagrams-of-the-focus-late-mk2-and-mk25-fuseboards-and-fuse-values/ The fuse is number 109 and is 20A, the fuse board is up under the passenger side dash, two twist tabs and the board drops down. Pull the board forward to move the hinge points down into deeper slots so that the board will fold down flatter for easier access.

  26. I just got a 1.6 petrol, at the time of buying it i always said i'd never buy a deisel. N all the 1.6 deisels around at the time needed a new turbo. However i've ended up doing mainly motorway driving n now may end up in a job where i need to drive my own car all over the country. So i'm really starting to wish i'd went for the 1.8 deisel n had it re-mapped. Like everyone says there really isnt much you can do to a petrol engine without spending silly money

  27. Just so you know.. There are two dedicated sections for mod ideas now. One section is for various mod ideas, the other is for members personal build threads where you'll find every mod they've personally done to date and plenty of inspiration for your own mods.

  28. I agree with the guys on this 1 I originally wanted a diesel but ended up with a 1.8 petrol now I wish I had the patience to wait for a diesel coz there aint much you can do to a petrol without a turbo or supercharger on it But diesel on the other hand lot can be done

  29. It's when you replace the red rear fog with a clear reverse light and fit a red bulb. Nice little mod which costs around £30

  30. I would keep the Tax as well , i have never seen a dealer sell a car with tax they always make you tax the car.
    1 point
  31. If its a part ex then id keep the tax and claim it back as most dealers just send the cars to auction anyway.

  36. I'm really getting tempted by seeing pics and reviews of the new ST on the forum! Would really want to test drive first though. I love my s1600, it's been a cracking car for the last 12 months, so if its as good as that but with better handling and power the ST must be ace! 😀

  37. Dislike all busses, taxis, Audi drivers, Vaux##ll drivers (a given), people that drive too fast/slow, ignorant drivers, Sunday drivers, learner drivers on their first/second/third lesson as they haven't got a clue, tailgaters, undertakers, lane hogs, everyone that thinks that because i look sideways at them at lights i want to race them (I'm looking at you because you're a nob actually mate, not because I'm interested in racing your overmodded shopping trolley), people who think chrome piping on their cars make it look cool (it doesn't for the record), and anyone who breaks the law on the road as it means a shed load of paperwork and the usual cry of " why aren't you catching real criminals instead of pulling me over just to make an easy arrest". Rant well and truly over.

  39. I had one today tailgating me, she nearly sh*t herself when I cogged it down a gear and slowed up without touching the brakes, funnily enough she tended to keep her distance afterwards, (I wonder why)

  41. The smiles do get better , i rolled my Focus st 3 yrs ago an then came down performance wise an got a fiesta zetec s an for the last 2 years owned a s1600 an thought that fast an fun but then got back to owning an st again an then the smiles got bigger having power an decent brakes again :) not done many miles yet as only done 250 so far . My mate drove it the day i picked it up an went a lot faster than me as on my way to his i only took it upto 90/100 an he was doing 120 with ease wen i looked at the speedo , he commented he'd love to take it round the nurburgring to see how it fairs having been there before but not in handling car like mine thou ! It was afterall developed there an should go well and has been something i have wanted to do for a while now an not got around to . Performance bits are coming out already for it as see Scc performance have a Revo remap in advanced testing with fairly good gains and mountune have already got there short shift kit avaliable to buy .

  45. Cost me £58 from the red light. When standard unleaded was at 1.39 / ltr. I'm getting 40.4mpg with 1400 miles on the clock now after just 3 weeks ownership. That's mostly motorway driving and the odd - frequent blast up / down a dual carriageway. Range trip states I'll get 380-410 miles from a tank, but I never let it let that low. Which is about the same as my previous Mk7 fiesta S1600, which was a non turbo 120ps 1.6 petrol

  46. So it's here! Pulled up to show room and she had it inside! Said as I was first out she'd keep it in - plus everyone who came into the show room were apparently quite taken with it! Early impressions - built in sat nav is very very good. Full leather looks and feels amazing. Heated seats are a revelation! Loving the red, so glad changed my mind from Mustard. Will take better close up pics of exterior and interior later - I'm off for a drive!! And when I got home:
