Grill change shape might be due to looks to much like certain Aston Martins ?3 points

Not really a fan tbh! Think the mk2 and mk2.5 are the best shaped focus in my opinion, don't like how they have made the focus more longer like the mk3 and this one, but just my opinion at the end of the day! Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC mobile app3 points

I am disappointed in the up coming diesel st. That is a car I have been waiting for. A cheaper diesel than vw golf gtd with good performance, except its the same 2.0L tdci engine with a remap of 182bhp. A normal 2L tdci gets 170 from a remap so I am truly disappoint I can't see a more coming from the 2.0 when its already pushed past 170. Such a let down. Might aswell buy a 2L tdci and get a remap Sent from my automated robot M1X-M4573R-700N3Y2 points

Odd question Lenny, but, have you considered that perhaps (just maybe) comments such as the above might be related to the reason your not erm.... as you are claiming? :p1 point

Another happy EGR blank user here, fitted to the wife's '59 1.6TDCi 110 Euro5 and it drives much nicer for it. No hesitation pulling away - always had a nasty dead spot. Still to do my '58 1.6TDCi 90 Euro4 though it doesn't have the same 'need'.1 point

Ahh I didn't know that ash..Will get into that then..as would like diff colour badges! F*#k me that civic was hot! Colour was beat! Well done :)1 point

vibration is through the steering wheel but you can sort of tell its from the engine. Its very similar to a car I had a few years ago that I ended up having the clutch and DMF replaced which sorted it.1 point

when you buy a car a must is a major service just like what lenny has mentioned.... tbh he is bob on on everything (lenny i hate you lol)1 point

sorry to hijack, but isnt blue smoke due to cause of burnt oil/ oil seeping thro valve seals, pistons, scored bores etc or just too much oil in the engine so it throws it out of the exhaust...... as ive had my injectors re-seated and still a cloud of blue smoke comes out on initial start up but never any other time...1 point

Looks great , i was going to ask about if you were going to fit a spoiler , but you answered at the end :)1 point

Very nice mate, how much did all that cost may I ask. You should put up audio/video of the exhaust sounds ;)1 point

Sweet and did it make a noticable differance? Was it a solid plate? Been tempted to do this for a while1 point

Let me know when you do Lenny. I'll like a look at how they perform! Are they an import? You don't see much of them kickin about.1 point

I would just like to thank everyone for the advise and good luck. I am seeing a solicitor tomorrow to hopefully get some professional advise.1 point

yeah it all got a bit dark, i don't trust myself to mess with brightness adjustment tbh and thanks bud, nelly is a cool chick and that corsa driver was a real tool, wearing a vest, sun shades, on his phone, acting like a fool, none of that is visible from the cam though1 point

i used to stall my car in the mornings when pulling away from traffic lights, since fitting the egr plate ive never stalled since1 point
-
Thanks for that. Thats interesting - I originally thought of tapping into the courtesy lights on the roof but was pursuaded to run the cable back to the fuseboard. I have the auto-dimming mirror and rain sensor as standard in ghia spec and it might be easier to tap into them if its possible - what do you think? You are right about the mirror tilt giving more room on the passenger side, but it just seems more exposed there. I will play about with various options before I stick anything permenently in place to get the best combination. I will play with the settings and try the motion detection, but as you say, the most important is that it is reliable in filming automatically with no fiddling around day to day.1 point

I've been using the SJ1000 camera as my dash cam for a good 9 months and I'm very impressed with it. It costs a tenner more than the Mobius but comes with an underwater housing, a battery that will run the camera for well over two hours and it also had a colour rear screen (viewfinder). Takes great 5mp stills, too. The frame I attach here is taken from the movie timeline. You'll recognise the Fiesta dash panel and the A pillar reflections. If you'd like to read my review of this remarkable camera, go here: http://www.theiac.org.uk/news/Tom-Hardwick-review.pdf1 point

Fitting a solid EGR blanking plate has advantages for any DIESEL engine, Ford PSA etc With the advantages of the inlet staying clean, less smoke from the exhaust better performance/ economy, turbo spools faster, etc (turbodiesel), on any diesel engine Some can be fitted with no problem, on others, the engine management light may come on, some owners choose to run their cars with the solid plates anyway, and ignore it or reset the light with a code reader There was talk about "limp home mode" being triggered due to a solid plate being fitted, but this was forum scaremongering,(when asked, nobody had this actually happen, they had "heard" about it on an online forum) a faulty (eg- sticking open) EGR valve would cause this, (or a plate with holes beong fitted on a car with a faulty EGR valve) a solid plate would prevent this, a solid plate "fixes" a leaking/ jammed EGR valve by effectively disabling the EGR valve/ system1 point

I did mine 9 years ago - still going strong - Many people would rather have the benifits of the solid plate, even if the EML comes on (mine does'nt)1 point
-
Just done my one this morning, 2008 1.8 TDCI. I bought a stainless steel plate with slotted holes and just loosened off the bolts on the pipe / EGR union and slipped it in. Didn't even have to remove the scuttle. I've been a run of 50 miles or so today, and my initial experience is good - less smoke out the rear and a smoother power delivery throughout more of the power band. And so far no EML, but I'm not counting my chickens just yet. I, like you, was hesitant to do this, but my advice would be do it. If the worst come to the worst you can always take it back out, it's only a fiver you'll have wasted!.1 point

it stops the exhaust gasses being recycled so a better burn for your engine. ive don't it on mine and it feels better to drive with1 point

We all make mistakes mate, trust me, we wouldn't be human otherwise. Learn, regret, move on. Don't do it again though or I'll have to drive down to essex and sort ya out jks1 point

Check the "focus essentials" page on Facebook. You can get a custom set for about £40. I haven't been able to find any anywhere else. Ford never made any genuine accessory ones for the S. Either that or you buy some generic ones and custom fit them yourself. I need to get a set myself1 point

Finally got the job done, at a local independent garage (he's the cousin of my best mate). I agreed to change the whole front lower wishbones, because although the part is more expensive it makes the labour cheaper, and ultimately is a more thorough job. Each wishbone was £44 each. He also did the rear bushes without removing the subframe. No idea how, but the whole job front and rear only took 3 hrs. The total price including parts, labour and VAT was £232 which around 1/3 the price Ford wanted. There may be a bit of "mates rates" in that, but I am a happy bunny indeed. The car feels so much better now, and the constant jitter over small bumps has gone completely. I was also getting a squeak from the front-left over bumps, and that's gone too. The whole ride and steering have been improved massively. Tomorrow I'm taking the car for 4-wheel laser alignment, so everything should be sorted.1 point

Your rear wheel camber needs adjusting. You may also want to check the condition of your springs and all rear bushes for wear.1 point
