I learnt the hard way about shoes..."Which pair of boots do you like best, dearest snugglebum?" "They're identical!" "Oh no they're not oh darling boyfriend if mine" "They flippin' well are" "@#$&*#/#@#*&" rapid exit stage left for her and confused look for me "But they're identical" (to no one in particular) Turns out they had different buckles? Also, some of the above terms of endearment may have been exaggerated ever so slightly. It's no wonder I'm single lol Sent from my GT-I9300 using Ford OC mobile app2 points

I finally got my full milltek system fitted, manifold, decat and catback. I also managed to pick up a milltek sport cat for when mot comes around. I'm really happy with it and it is quite loud which took a bit of getting used to. Its also sitting quite low, but I have a powerflex exhaust mount sitting ready to put on, it will hopefully make it sit a bit better. I was at a local show recently and got a few pics taken, its nice to have a few photos that aren't taken using an iphone camera!!2 points

I opted for toys over looks, so I have a Titanium X. I do find the following useful Privacy glass Heated seats Cruise control Power fold mirrors Keyless entry - push button start Auto dim rear view mirror Electric rear windows Full leather seats Not so useful Centre head rest 17" 8 spokes wheels One thing I couldnt have is the dress up kit on the "X" As I have to reverse off a deep kerb, I think I would have ripped off the side skirts within a week! If I were a young gun then deffo the ZS cos looks are everything.....right? Different strokes for different folks.2 points

So, new year and new upgrade plans. Just wanted to hear the thoughts of anyone who has these in their cars: 1. Focal Performance PS165 2 New: Focal Performance PS165FX Is the new material in the FX worth the price bump from the PS165. I have no way of hearing them myself in person and I can only rely on reviews off the internet. So far, no decent review on the FX but it did win some awards, so it can't be half bad. Also, I found this off Ebay and was wondering if it would fit my MK2.5 even though it is meant for the MK2: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-Mk2-Custom-Fit-MDF-10-Sub-Box-Subwoofer-Enclosure-Bass-/360623710681 Plan would be to get the sub enclosure and also get this JL Audio 10" sub to pair it up with: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JL-Audio-10w0v3-4-10-Inch-25cm-300-Watts-4-ohm-Car-Sub-Subwoofer-/181082630165?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2a295da815 Any suggestions regarding front speakers and 10" sub woofers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)1 point

Tried something a bit different with a lighting mod over the weekend Bit of work in progress with some spare vents as I only had amber LED strip to hand and 2 small sections wired up to use so put 1 in the top and 1 in bottom of centre vents. Got them wired up off the dimmer circuit so they'll dim or brighten with the rest of the dash. Don't know an easy way to spread the light out better as you can see some of the LED's full on instead of a nice ambient glow. the amber strip was for another possible project but that didn't work out for the same reasons. In truth I'm not that happy with the results so far but haven't given up yet. Not sure if relocating the strips further down the vents may help but I need to be careful they don't come unstuck and get eaten by the HVAC :o Can try that off the car as I've got spare vents, also got red strip on order to play about with.1 point

So I decided to be brave and me and a friend attempted tot isn't the rear lights of my baby fiesta. I am very happy with the results!! Went a lot better then I thought (thank God) attached are the results. I hope you all share my opinion and think they look great Nick Sent from my LG-D855 using Ford OC mobile app1 point

Ah I understand Lenny, that makes sense now. Expect you'd have to fit that pretty far down the vent to miss the open/closed flap? The little pair of LED strips I had left have died now so experimenting is temporarily on hold, going to keep my eyes open for more ideas in the mean time.1 point

A black intercooler well I never thought of that? I suppose I could try that? It's arrived today and it's in fantastic condition. The guy had it's from new with no fin damage. That's always a good thing. I need to give it a clean out before I install it but I've seen lots of different ways to clean it out. But I don't know what I can do to help. I have some g101 to hand so I suppose I could use that but it is corrosive so I don't it to corrode inside. Must be something good. I'd love to have a catch tank made but I can't seem to find any for diesels. I'm not quite sure how to go go about it? I've seen some people just put a filter on the end of there breathers? I can't do that because ilk have to blank the hole off? Perhaps some samco? I'm glad you think I'm going in the right direction. I would like to upgrade but I'll only do that when the clutch slips. Do know anywhere that will do this as a direct swap? I don't fancy messing about with bits like that. Not confident. If it was an aircraft then I'd definitely do it all day long. Water injection is another thing on my list of things to do but I would have a clue where to start? A guide anywhere you might know of? Thanks for getting back to me. I think I may spray my intercooler. Sounds very interesting. Many Thanks Ryan1 point

About £1500 plus fitting if added afterwards. Not many titanium's with body kit out there so it would be a new build :(1 point

From past experience, diesels don't usually suffer from stalling, due to the amount of torque these engines have, unless you leave the handbrake on or try setting off uphill without a bit of gas With every diesel vehicle I have owned, if I let the clutch out slowly they have all set off under its own power without pressing the accelerator at all.1 point

I get what you mean as you prob sent it off to get done. Reckon you would survive the drive for a day or two without a centre console :P I drove my car for 2 days this week with nothing in the boot as I was putting Silent Coat in there, ran out of time and rain started. It was an interesting drive to work I tell ya :)1 point

Update - Ford replaced the pads, wire brushed the discs and greased everything up, all free of charge and so far after 2 days of usage I have not had the Chewbacca noise :) Definitely must of been a dodgy set of pads!1 point

I'd go for the titanium and add the bodykit,,, best of both worlds then.1 point

When I first heard of it I had the same question so it's not your ignorance don't worry lol I got it in a spray can from halfords which cost me 11.99 I believe. Just says rear light tints on the can it's pretty good I'd recommend it over buying tinted lights any day Sent from my LG-D855 using Ford OC mobile app1 point

Pictures of the install of Silent Coat. So far in 2 afternoons after work, I managed to get the 2 front doors and the whole boot done. 1 1/2 hr for each door and 2 hr for the whole boot. Fairly easy process with the right tools and it helped that I had stripped the car doors numerous times before. Lots of patience needed but this whole process was a lot of fun, even with the lashing rain and my son trying to "help" me yesterday :P1 point

Had a busy weekend with birthday party for The Menace. Great craic! Didn't get a chance to do much for the car even though weather was ok on Sunday and I really wanted to strip the doors at least to put the Silent Coat. Managed to take out the JL Audio sub out of the Vibe enclosure, wire/solder it up in the new enclosure and fit it in the car. All in, 1hr total as it was quite fiddly at times and I had my son trying to "help" by stealing my tools to go fix his own car/toys. End result, I am extremely impressed. This enclosure matches the specs for the subwoofer much better and as a result, the sound quality has improved a lot. The bass is definitely tighter and much more musical. No SPL/SQ competition winning so far but excellent to my untrained ears. Drive to work was very entertaining as I kept hearing new parts in songs. This afternoon I will go to B&Q to get some degreaser and a roller to stick on the Silent Coat. Reckon I might have time to do the front 2 doors if weather permits. I will post pictures of the new enclosure then :)1 point

Today got the subwoofer enclosure and the Silent Coat delivered. The enclosure is well made and I can't find any faults with it. Feels sturdy and lightweight which I wanted. The Silent coat on the other hand, 40 sheets of it in total was heavy as hell! I was really surprised how heavy it was. It's probably heavier than a tyre. Quick picture of the enclosure.1 point

Update: Bought the JL Audio JX250.1 amp (Used), Silent Coat 41 Sheet Bulk Pack 2mm and the custom enclosure. All off Ebay. Decided to hold off on getting the Dodo Pro Barrier and see what difference just the Silent Coat makes. Thanks to Mr_Spock for all the helpful advice and tips. Any tips on how to strip the interior now to put the Silent Coat would be well appreciated :) Thanks1 point

After a very long day driving around in the sun, managed to get my hands on the Focal 165KR. Excited is not even describing it when I opened the box in the shop to check out if all was ok inside. Tomorrow returning back to Ireland, where I will need to get the following parts: 1. Silent Coat Extra Bulk Pack 4mm http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371023942847?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 2. Ford Focus custom 10" sub enclosure http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360623710681?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 3. JL Audio JX 250.1 mono block amp http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JL-Audio-JX250-1-JX250-1-Car-Subwoofer-Amplifier-1-x-250w-RMS/251373999694?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222005%26algo%3DSIC.PROD%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D23776%26meid%3D7806206479038519963%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D10165%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D251496310376&rt=nc Plan would be to remove the rear stock speakers, put the current front Vibe Slick 6 speakers amped in there, powered by the current amp that will also power the Focal 165KR upfront. JL Audio 10" sub will then be powered by the JL Audio JX250.1 amp, which will all be in the custom enclosure. Also, my old 2 Farad capacitor will have to be fitted again for this setup. I will probably get the same audio guys, Autotronics to to the fitting for me once I have installed the sound deadening myself in the car. Hoping for no rain now so I can get that done soon :)1 point

Yup DRL's from Taiwan, absolutely perfect and simple to fit, had help from fellow member Mixmasterlooney. Link to DRL's is in my Signature.1 point

So found a good deal that I couldn't pass up on Ebay today. I got the JL audio 10W0V3-4 subwoofer after making an offer. I been looking for that for a while as I now plan on getting the subwoofer enclosure as above and also Silent Coat 4mm sound deadening. This will be the summer project to get these in the car and make it quieter on long motorway journeys. Anyone here used the 4mm SIlent Coat in their cars? Any tips and reviews will be appreciated :) Thanks1 point

also a little tip for anyone that wants to make sure the DMB wheel center stickers go on perfect I cleaned and hoovered the interior and treated the leather seats with zymol. some awful quality photos of the results spent the rest of the day cleaning, polishing, sealing and waxing the car. From this point photos are a bit limited as I got fed up and I was fighting against time before it got dark. the result of my hard work by this stage It was nearly dark and the quality of the photos went downhill again, but here is how she sits at the moment new additions top grill gloss black with DMB sticker, bottom grill swapped out for RS grill and painted gloss black fog surrounds painted gloss black DRL halo lights, which aren't working currently but it was too late in the day and I was too fed up to start investigating. I'll try and get some better photos over the weekend1 point
-
And the finished article, good as new. it is probably a bit overkill as you will only see the tailpipes once it gets fitted, but I do tend to be a bitt ott with cleaning and it means that if I ever decide to take it off and sell it on, it will be in a lot better condition.1 point
-
got the car back and alot happier now that the front bumper was fixed, they ended up having to plastic weld it as it was cracked behind the grill Cleaned up and polished these parts while the car was away the main reason for taking the wing mirrors off was to get them painted while the car was in the bodyshop reassembled and refitted I'm quite happy with the results.1 point
-
and few shots after I think they might need spaced a bit more to be perfect, but they are a lot better than before. I then got a day off for paddys day and did a quick detail. Detaring agent at work, shows how much crap got stuck onto the paint work over the winter Clayed and with a layer of wax on Best I could get on an phone 4 camera1 point

So for the past couple of months I have been very busy, so busy the car hasn't been washed since november but now I have a bit of time to sort a few things out, first job is to throw in this lot, possibly on monday Still unsure about the sub, as it will add a good bit of weight to the car so it will effect performance and economy. Also I'm unsure how i would wire it into the fiesta radio,as the four channel amp will be using the rcas from the front and back speakers. I was thinking of getting an rca splitter for the rear and split it to the amp for the rear speakers and the amp for the sub. Thoughts? I also had this on the car for all of a month, But I stupidly didn't take any photos of it fitted, I decided I wanted to do something else with the front of the car so I took it off. I'll be throwing it up for sale in the next couple of weeks if anyone is interested1 point
-
and the reason for having the interior stripped was to get it carb dipped including the air vent surrounds on the sony unit. the result I also installed cruise control and got it carbon dipped at the same time incredibly rubbish night shot photos do not do it justice at all, easily one of my favourite mods The sony unit is DAB compatible but I have yet to hear of anyone successfully retrofitting it, which is a shame. It might be an area I look into in the future my mate got the ST inserts from his focus done at the same time1 point
-
few night photos I took just after I finished washing it late one night next mod was to purchase a second hand J1 kit before and the kit after i had cleaned and oiled it after pic to follow a car we were working on the same day I was fitting the J11 point
