  4. A standard bumper (with fog lights) will fit your model no problem. The "2 part bumper" is just a standard bumper with the "bodykit and blade" The garage are using the bodykit as leverage to get more of your money.

  6. I have found the ultimate mod for all us Petrol/Diesel heads! It's simple and you get paid to add it to your car!!! Not only does it add instant power but it also gives your car Swag! So here it is!

  7. I hit a pothole recently at speed that broke something in my dashboard, there's a constant rattle now. Surprised it didn't damage the wheel! Yeah I've just seen someone else's post about putting 50s on instead of 45s, I'll look in to that as well. Cheers

  9. Ive had a play with that software, must ensure battery fully charged before altering anything. Ive switched on hill launch assist, rain sensor, tyre deflation detection, auto locking on speed.

  10. The handbrake on my previous Focus used to stick on occasionally (associated with going through water); the cables were fine, it was the damp brake shoes forming a bond with the drum. After the first time I found that pressing hard on the foot brake, releasing the handbrake and then reversing always broke the bond; here's why ... The brake shoe linings are optimised for stopping forward rotation (since that's the direction the car spends most of its time heading; unless you're Ken Block :)) and thus the shoes have 'leading' and 'trailing' edge. When correctly assembled the forward rotation of the drum helps to pull the shoes onto the drum surface thus increasing the effectiveness; therefore if you reverse immediately after releasing the handbrake you get the opposite effect and that helps to break the unwanted sticktion. Used to happen quite a bit with 1100/1300s and old Minis; the original ones, not the current tat (some of them are not 'Mini', they're more 'Dangerously Obese' ).

  11. Theoretically they shouldn't have an issue with you requesting it (or them providing it) It was their mistake and one which they need to pay for. Like I said, as a manager, I would be deeply embarrassed that a customers car left my dealership like that!
    1 point
  12. As above, it's a common fault and ford are aware of the issue. If it's a pre 64 reg and under 12 months old still it'll be replaced under warranty. Don't take them off yourself, they might be funny about it and be awkard saying you broke them taking them off. It fails due to the ribbon cable between the door shut and seat.

  13. I've heard of this before. It could be the batch your fiesta was in and could be something simple (electrical fault/program) so I wouldn't worry too much. Better to wait until they get it fixed at the factory than you having to go back and forth to the dealership due to a problem...

  15. When I took mine out I had 12k PA as the agreed mileage (usually do around that many.. But so far I've done 6k in just under 5 months so I'll be a good few thousand over by the time I hand it back.. That said I was always planning to renew my ford for the Focus ST or another FiST if the new MK has been released, that way I won't get penalised and have a shiny new car to boot ;) Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

  16. If that's the case then the factory sensors may come with, IMO much better as you get the proximity display via the head unit instead of a faint beeping! Fingers crossed eh Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

  17. As above, They should be able to order the bumper in pre-sprayed from ford (assuming it's a ford dealer) A rear bumper swap is pretty simple to be fair. Drill out some pop rivets, remove wheel arch, remove bolts and it'll come away. Thinking about it, they should be able to get their hands on a bumper with the sensors already fitted.

  22. Don't have much to add to that to be honest. Theres enough stuff on the internet, including other discussions on this website, to make up your own mind on how to deal with this waste of space so-called technology that has been dreamt up by EEC burocrats who have no idea just to meet their own made up emissions targets...
    1 point
  23. Yep, completely agree with that. The only problem is that you slow down quicker if you leave it in gear as you have to overcome the friction in the gearbox and engine in overrun, like its the wheels turning the engine instead of the other way around. The readout is not accurate at all, especially on shorter trips. The only real way to measure this is to fill to the brim every time and note the mileage and how many litres of fuel you put in.
    1 point
  24. Well presumably it would be at no cost to yourself, and once they have a bumper in stock it will take (approximate book time of half a day iirc) then if they really make a mess of it request another dealer fits the sensors for you! Alternatively request that another dealer does it straight away, but if they've admitted it doesn't look right you shouldn't be paying a penny regardless :) Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

  26. Ah the old blue foot well light mod, maximum gain for minimum outlay! Mine added about 47.5 BHP so I was a little disappointed as you can imagine, I think I might need new fuses to get the full BHP increase as mine are quite old and tired :)

  33. The garage that done it should hang their heads in shame and at least get you a new bumper and pay someone else to do it on their behalf haha You'd have to get behind the bumper to give them a decent push (no mean feat with the diffuser though)

So as well as your usual Mustangs and Ferraris (an older one), there's also these listed here: Why Do Car Makers Like Horse Names? :D Edit: Can't check if the link works on an iPhone, darnit!! 37. Thought i'd chip in with my two cents here.... I passed my test in January 2013, by the 6th February 2013 i'd completed pass plus and achieved Exceeded (Highest of the three tiers). My first car was a 52 reg 1.2 Renault Clio which I paid about £1,100 for, the first year's FC (or comprehensive) insurance was £1,100. Second year was £595 FC. Third year was still going to cost about £565 (Hardly much of a saving is it over the year's period?) As you'll read below, I ended up getting a new car the day after my third year of insurance started. Both of these years were done on an Admiral multi-car policy. Admiral didn't recognise my pass plus qualification, but it worked out cheaper to go with them than another insurer who did accept, or "recognise" pass plus, (£1,100 vs about £3,400 with pass plus, CRAZY!!) I drove this for about 2.5 years until the Saturday just gone. I picked up a £5,000 2011 Reg Ford Fiesta Edge 1.4 TDCi 5 Door in Red as my Clio was becoming more and more of a financial burden. I thought I had 2 years no claims discount, although Admiral advised me I actually have three (Apparently they count the time spent as a learner driver as no claims too). So I now have 3 years no claims which has been proved and submitted to my new insurer (LV), the cost of insuring my £5,000 car came to a very reasonable £695 (£660 plus £20 legal cover and £15 windscreen or accident injury cover, one of those two). The only downer is the excess is quite a pricey one, at £500. I also looked at Telematics on my new car, the best price for this was £590 - a saving of £100, however i've also heard stories from mate's brother's that it's saved them no money, and in some cases, ended up costing them more. Also, after having read your post, just thought i'd point out a thing or two: It's not just about how much your car is worth, it's also about the other party, or parties involved. For instance, suppose your car is worth £1,000, and you pay £3,000 to insure, you'll think the insurers are saying you will write your car off three times a year, in reality, suppose you have a smash where you are at fault (say hitting a very expensive car in this example) - the repair costs can very very quickly mount up. My dad once had his stationary (parked) 4x4 hit by a guy going round a corner too fast in his van, the damage was certainly noticeable, nice big dent down the side, smashed left headlight, and the left side front wheel was slightly shredded, even for reasonably minor damage like that, the repair bill was about £800. I know exactly how you feel, i've been through the same thing before. I did ideally want a Zetec S, however these are a 1.6 and the insurance from a 1.4 -> 1.6 goes up by about £400 (Based on my criteria), because of this factor and the other factor of emissions tax (a Zetec S costing around £130-£180 a year road fund, and my 1.4 TDCi only costing £20 a year!) I decided to go with a 1.4 Edge, I may end up getting a Zetec S / ST when i'm nearly 25 and have a higher paying job and can afford a top of the range model. Basically, what i'd advise you to do, is find the best rate you can get, stick at it with a reasonable first car for at least two years, and then if you have the cash for a newer car, shop around for insurance quotes.

  40. I've sent you the file Leonard I'll add images when I have chance as work's busy this week First of all; You need to choose your image and save it to a USB (USB should be formatted as FAT32. The image should be a JPEG (testing .png within the next few days.. Busy at work) 2.) Insert the USB into the USB connection on the headunit. (Ideally with the HU turned on although not necessary) 3.) (if you use a handbrake Bypass relay skip this step) If the green wire coming from the radio is connected to your handbrake then put on your handbrake. If it isn t connected to anything then remove the radio and tap GREEN wire twice on a ground, the second time secure it so it stays grounded. This SHOULD trick your headunit into thinking the handbrake is on. 4. ) If the headunit hasn't already done so, select the USB source. Once the HU has loaded the device press 'Media' and select 'Photos'. The headunit should automatically discover any images on the storage device. Scroll through the images until you find the one you want to use as your background. 5.)Once on your selected image, tap 'Save'. A prompt should appear asking if you're sure. Press 'Yes'. 6.)Once the image has finished saving (Can take a while) go back to your home screen. Press 'Theme' then go to 'Background'. Slide to the left and press the image that shows some cartoon flowers. If this option is not available, unapply and reapply your hanbrake 7.)You're done! I Take no responsibility for any damage you cause whilst following this guide :)

  44. The way it worked last year is you can buy 2 or more tickets and get 1 stand pass for your car. And yes there were some good discounts, Mountune were selling the Mtune for a lot less than it usually goes for, and other companies had some good deals too. There's 6 months to go so plenty of time to get ready, but if you want a hotel room the night before make sure you book as early as you can, because the cheap ones are already selling out.
