That stuff in a diesel is like rocket fuel, id happily endorse it, cant comment on its cleaning properties but still... I tend to use BG products, BG EPR seems to do well, different problems require different solutions, especially on diesels. cleaning out that crap from the EGR can be helped with water vapour but if its bad then your looking at removing it, baked on carbon isnt going anywhere without sonics or a brush, fuel injectors and pumps on the other hand can be cleaned and lubed up with additives.1 point

well injector / fuel system cleaner isnt going to remove gunk from an inlet manifold , thats not what its designed for so i dont see your point ?1 point

SUCCESS ! At last, I have upgraded to F7 mapping. As I didn’t have USB sticks in the conventional sense, I was using SD cards with a USB adaptor and the card I was using for ‘Stick 1’ (Sandisk Extreme Pro 64gb SDHC) wasn’t liked by SYNC. I changed to a standard Sandisk 32gb SDHC card and the update went on. In fact within 5 seconds of inserting the USB, ‘Updating System Software...’ appeared at the top of the SYNC screen. The update for Stick 1 took 33 minutes. My card for Stick 2 was a Sandisk Ultra 32gb SDHC, which worked perfectly and the Stick 2 update took 20 minutes. As I’m in the Edinburgh area, I knew that the Queensferry Crossing, which opened a year ago and replaced the Forth Road Bridge, didn’t appear on the old map, so I immediately checked and it does appear on the new map, so no more driving on water for me. 😃 Thanks to @KugaEdge for the files, @simonb65 for troubleshooting and @Hamster for the offer of a home visit 👍.1 point

turns out that for some reason the boost control sensor on inter cooler wasn't plugged in so just over 250£ in parts to find out when stripping to replace inter cooler sensor (map/boost control) that a plug had come undone thanks1 point

From what I've been told it may be best to get a second hand one as most likely companies don't get genuine parts when reconditioning them however I did this in January and since then the car has been driving and running really nice. Wish I could keep my car longer.1 point

Hey David, Yeah bugger, I was hoping it wouldn't be that hard, and the 5* would be you just have to remove a lot of things, my other hope is that it just sounds like a problem with Servo but is actually something else. Thanks for replying1 point

they look good mate and different from gloss black of colour coded and the carbon look blends in well with the cars colour1 point

All symptoms suggest that there is a problem with the receiver. Did you change the GEM module/fuse box? There are different versions of the GEM module/fuse box. Older versions of the GEM module/fuse box have an integrated remote control receiver. Newer versions of the GEM module/fuse box are using an external remote control receiver. Apart from the really low spec versions most newer GEM module/fuse box versions also have an integrated remote control receiver but it is switched off as standard. If not configured correctly the remote control functionality will no longer work after the GEM module/fuse box is changed..1 point

The '002' at the end of the file means it has been downloaded to the same location more than one. Just match the file names in the folder to those in the install files. I'm coming up to Scotland in a few weeks and i'll have a look if you want. H1 point

I was wondering this the other day, I took a guess and thought it was a sensor that was used in the Mk7 version of the airbox as I remember one being tucked into a little nook around there1 point

Just popped into my usual dealer this morning and had a quick poke around in an ST-2 in the showroom, mainly to try the seats as I'm not overly thrilled with those in my current ST-Line. Found the back ok, but the base very tight around the hips and I'm not particularly broad in build. The seats and to some extent the suspension out me off the previous version, so I look forward to a decent test drive when my dealer puts on a demonstrator. (I know it's not a limo, but I found that the previous version bounced around so much it forced me to slow down on some roads, which rather defeats the object of having a sporty car.) In the meantime any feedback from those who have already taken delivery would be greatly appreciated, particularly on the comfort/ride aspects. Hanging off also to see if any nasties appear with the new 1.5, don't want to see a repeat of the 1.0 ecoboost coolant issues for instance!1 point

Right, so Microsoft don't like you sharing files of over 10Gb so I've had to split into two locations. Go here first for the instructions and files for your first USB stick (it's a Google Drive location) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1UlkJ_InwZWUPpiJfjHxkF3TuXza6NzIo And here second for the files for your second USB stick (it's a One Drive location) https://1drv.ms/f/s!AgVBLAIAGjn6jJ9BUsRwwPRBdtn16g Hope this works now for everyone.1 point

@KugaEdge, Stick1.zip looks a bit empty ! or at least lacking in the tar.gz file. Is that just the Map License file (JR3T-14G424-BC_110777.tar.gz)? and Stick2.zip contains the voice file (JR3T-14G422-BC.tar.gz). I think you've missed the map file (JR3T-14G421-BC.tar.gz) somewhere!! I downloaded Map F7 from another site a while back and the Map USB stick had ... JR3T-14G421-BC.tar.gz and JR3T-14G424-BC_110777.tar.gz in the SyncMyRide folder and the autoinstall.lst file contained ... ; Gen 3 - Assembly Update - 3.0.18010 Maps EU F7 Q1 [SYNCGen3.0_3.0.18025_PRODUCT] Item1 = License MAPS EU (3.0.18010) Open1 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G424-BC_110777.tar.gz Item2 = Maps EU F7.1 (3.0.18010) Open2 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G421-BC.tar.gz Options = Delay,AutoInstall The Voice Pack Stick had ... JR3T-14G422-BC.tar.gz in the SyncMyRide folder and the autoinstall.lst file contained ... ; Gen 3 - Assembly Update - 3.0.18010 Maps EU F7 Q1 [SYNCGen3.0_3.0.18025_PRODUCT] Item1 = NAV LangPack 3.0 Open1 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G422-BC.tar.gz Options = Delay,AutoInstall So not sure how/why you've split them up! I would have expected the license to get installed the same time as the maps (as in the setup above) so there isn't a map/license mismatch. or have you got a 3rd stick image for the voice? NOTE : You can download all the update tar.gz files from the Ford File Servers ... http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/JR3T-14G421-BC.tar.gz http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/JR3T-14G424-BC_110777.tar.gz http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/JR3T-14G422-BC.tar.gz1 point
