we were instructed how to do video, starting with the rear number plate stating who i was and who the customer was . the starting at rear corner and working way round poinnting out some red/orage items finishing off with some green. then to front numberplate . all had to be done in 60 secs plus or minus 5 secs. video had to constantly show the vehicle and not the workshop floor or surounding area .2 points

You can use proper high temp caliper paint if you want, but I and many others have used Hammerite with decent results and it's a lot cheaper. I've also used Poundland black paint on drums before!1 point

The Level 3 instrument cluster (4.2 Inch Full Color) is installed on Focus MK3 vehicles that have the following options: * High level audio system with MFD Sat Nav system (5 inch full color FCDIM). * Sony audio system with MFD Sat Nav system (5 inch full color FCDIM).. * Sony audio system without MFD Sat Nav system (4.2 inch full color FCDIM) that are produced before 01-10-2012. Whether a car has the Level 1+ (3.5 inch monochrome) instrument cluster or the Level 3 (4.2 Inch Full Color) fully depends on the type of audio/Sat Nav system. it has nothing to do with the trim level.1 point

I would of thought they do as the focus came with 110 horsepower and the difference between that and the 90hp is the injectors and turbo but like isetta stated it might be different not certain. Was looking at getting my 1.6 TDCI fiesta remapped by HDI tuning but if I can only keep my car for only 2 years because of the emissions charge there's no point 😢1 point

I have the performance indicators and had my dad drive behind me. He said they are bright but not a lot to blind you. I've noticed they do cause some people behind me to back off if they are driving close behind.1 point

Nope, ESP works perfectly well with drums. It's an easy swap tbh, only need the hubs, calipers and handbrake cables, the beam and arms are the same afaik. A lot of insurers won't cover it though so do check with your insurance first.1 point

Try some penetrating fluid in the lock, WD40 will do if that's all you've got. If it frees up the lock, use some graphite lube afterwards to keep it moving. Alternatively if you need a quick solution, break the flap open with a screwdriver and replace it in the future.1 point

The ecoboost should be run on 5W20 oil to WSS-M2C948-B spec, some garages may put in the 5W30 oil 913C or 913D oil which is usually for the older type of engines. The 1.0 timing belt runs in oil so no flushing oil should be used either. Has the car had regular servicing?1 point

I do like my car making the local paper. It's a bit ironic in that the article relates to a petition a neighbour has raised calling for traffic measures in our area. Whilst I'm all for slowing cars down in the area, what he's proposing goes against the original planning application for the area. This includes taking away bollards that were installed to stop rat-run through traffic and was one of the reasons we chose this specific site to build our house on. The only thing that would do would take traffic away from his house and redirect it by ours. So we didn't sign his petition 😁 Maybe this should have been in the 'I don't like' thread 🤔1 point

Have used leads from a local shop here costing £30 with no problems whatsoever, in fact they cured a very light misfire I had. As to the brand name, not 100% sure but could have been ‘Intermotor’1 point

if i can get up to 68mpg out of a 1.0 ecoboost, i bet i could get somewhere near 90mpg out of a diesel. lol1 point

Our 17 year old son had a bottle of alcohol free Becks the other day, I've not had a Becks in quite a few years but tasted pretty similar to 'proper' beer to me. 🍻1 point

And Vauxhall dealers, i used to have to do them at my previous job at vauxhall garage . its quite a good idea to be fair. the customer can see the issues if any decide if they want the work done. no more " your discs and pads are worn out" when they clearly are not. now customer can see pad thickness etc, tyre tread depths and general underside condition.1 point

It is worth checking that flash code again, maybe. I interpret it as code 22. I think the pause between the two digits is slightly shorter than the pause between the repeated pairs, but the gap between the flashes of a single digit are much shorter than either of those pauses. But code 22 does not come up on Google as a valid Focus code. I have references to "Invalid ROM code" which seems to be an ECU problem, and maybe a duff transponder ring, but nothing at all definite for a Focus. Forscan might help, when I connected on my Mk2 Focus with PATS problems, it gave a shed load of communication and invalid signal errors. But I had flash code 16 and it was the classic bad soldering on the connector problem. I also needed it to clear a rather permanent Theft DTC that a standard code reader would not clear. From the way it came & went to start with, this problem does look a bit like a bad connection problem. I would want to look at the connections between the main connector on the IC and the IC pcb with a magnifying glass, especially the ones to the transponder ring. You would have to remove the needles and open up the IC to see this. I have a guide to this, and there are YouTubes. Erasing & re-programming keys is a slightly dangerous option. If there is a fault with the ring, or if you get any connection problems via the ELM, then you will add to the problem. I would investigate other things first, and make sure that your computer & connection is reliable before re-programming PATS. It is recommended that you attempt to add any key you want to use prior to erasing keys, this tests that the key is valid and the transponder ring is working, without erasing all keys. It is in the Forscan page about PATS. IC connector partial pin-out below. The transponder +12 (C391 pin 1) comes from Fuse F67 (F114 in later fuse boxes) in the passenger fuse box, which also supplies the IC at pin 4. The full schematic for a Mk2 Focus is here, and the IC is on page 85. Guide to IC repair: https://www.fordownersclub.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=404911 point

Turn on then charge to full and leave connected for the requisite time, unplug and allow to discharge until about to shut down then repeat charge / discharge cycle a couple more times. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)1 point

Have you checked the bulb? Could either be the bulb or the red reflector on the light unit might have gotten faded. You could look at getting LED rear fogs which give out a red light from the diode.1 point
