I do like going out to the chippy today for the first time since just before the lockdown began in the UK. I thoroughly enjoyed my fish and chips with proper chippy mushy peas and curry sauce. I also like that it was quiet and they have strict social distancing measures in place.3 points

getting sick of these spam paypal and amazon emails saying there has been unauthorised use on my accounts. They aren't very sophisticated though as the sender email addresses don't match up to what they are supposed to be. I get 3 or 4 of them per day and the spam filter doesn't seem to pick up on the fact that they aren't official emails. You can instantly tell they're spam cos the email addresses start with random letters and numbers and then end with more and longer random letters and numbers and they also only use the email account name and not the name registered on the account. I haven't used PayPal since 2005 and the bank account it was registered to no longer exists as it was closed by the bank. Also, I'd know if my Amazon account was suspended or had any fraud activity on it cos it would email me, text me and I wouldn't be able to log in.2 points

I sold my playstation 4 last January but I left my account logged in for the buyer to be capable of playing my purchased games; They were supposed to edit the account to change the email so if invited again mate it's no longer Lenny from the block 😂2 points

Well it finally stopped raining and I got the job done. I found moving the trim panels made life much easier. After figuring out how to remove the load cover it was easy to unclip the rear of the support panel. Then, after disconnecting the boot light and accessory socket, I was able to move it away far enough to see what I was doing and get a pair of pliers in. I also unclipped the top of the tailgate surround trim and pulled the side trim away to get better access to the lower of the two nuts. Here's a few photos. I did all this because the yellow on the bulb had degraded as shown and the car's due for an MOT in 10 days.2 points

Perhaps they expect that the driver of a Jaaaaagggg would be a certain type of chap...a lot of "hot air" coming out of the mouth and maybe a whiff of bullsh** giving off methane...? Not saying anything about your Da Tom, just the stereotypical Jaaaaaaaaggg type of guy2 points
-
Quite fancy a jag while the ones with Ford engines can still be got. Nearly bought an XE (is that the smaller one?) before I got the diesel focus but in the end I couldn't help thinking that the Jag electronics would end up being even more unreliable than Fords. I wanted a Ford engined car, so it made sense just to buy a Ford!2 points

It was an accident during design. You know when you try to edit a picture and accidentally draw a line in the wrong place...that's exactly what happened here and no-one noticed until after it had gone into production! Do Fiesta drivers use a lot of pay & display carparks? The Mk6 used to have a coin slot above the radio (to cover the blank where the traction control button would have been), this must just be the modern 'card' version! Also, you should probably clear the ecstasy tabs out of your centre console before posting pics online.2 points

True! My diesel focus is £0 road tax, but the ST stings a bit, as do the bikes....2 points

Lol if a bright young man like you can't remember the difference between Google and Apple, what hope is there for us old dinosaurs? 😀2 points

Thanks for the suggestions. But, I can’t find any British coins that fit in the slot, and if they did, they would fall out of sight, as the slot is about 3/4 of the length of a credit card. So it’s for a parking ticket, or an AA card. Maybe I should have paid extra for the other buttons, then this terrible problem would not have occurred!2 points

Thank you so much for a very comprehensive guide. I found a sub frame on eBay for £40, just hope it’s not like the one I have. Doesn’t sound like it’s a common problem. I really appreciate your help here many many thanks john1 point

It won't be long before lockdowns are brought back. Leicester has already been put back into lockdown and only essential businesses can open. We are far from over this virus and it will come back and bite people in the bum.1 point

Thankfully things seem to be going back to normal. Yesterday went and got a haircut after 4 months. There was only 1 customer there so no waiting around 😁. They put barriers between each chair and the staff wore masks and gloves. Did also start getting takeaway also which I've missed1 point

I've just asked at the Garage I bought it from (Holdcroft Renault) and they told me I'd have to take it to ford garage for diagnostics! Bugger that!1 point

Nice taste in music, I bought the single many moons ago, most of what I listen to in the car is female vocal dance. Reflekt's 'Need to feel loved' and Luminary's 'Amsterdam' are both on my short list. A few others in my Top 10: Firewall - Sincere 2005 (Smith & Pledger Remix) Gareth Emery ft. Christina Novelli - Concrete Angel Deadmau5 ft. Kaskade - I Remember The Thrillseekers ft. Sheryl Dean - Synaesthesia (Fly Away)1 point

Hi again, is swapping the seat base frame for another an easy job. You said about the bolts holding the seat in the car, but do the upholstered seat and back just bold to the base frame ? john1 point

As far as I can remember, the directions from Apple Maps DO NOT show in the central cluster, only the built in nav directions do. However, I believe it may be being added in a future update along with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, although I may be getting that wrong and knowing Ford it’ll probably be years before that update arrives 😂. Hopefully that clears up any confusion for the time being.1 point

The Focus MK3 (and several other Ford models) uses the exact same module and are easy to find. However developing and building a more advanced module yourself is a lot more fun. Arduino is a very nice and cheap solution for development and testing. I am currently developing a CANbus module that converts the position of the heated seat switch to a CANbus signal that communicates with my aftermarket Android radio. Based on this signal the radio displays the heated seat signal.1 point

Wouldn't it be easier just to buy the module? Heated seats weren't all that rare in Mk2.5s so there must be plenty in scrap yards now?1 point

Ah! From your posts I assumed you were unhappy with the "Windows 3, circa 1990" look of the standard Sync screen, and were looking for something that looked better. Don't know I'm afraid, I only had a brief mess about with AA when I first got my car, decided it was no particular benefit to me personally, and deleted it again, but I was only looking at the Sync screen. I reserve the driver information screen for the big digital mph display in the "My View" function, to (hopefully) avoid committing further misdemeanours. @dtulip8 having used Carplay, are you able to answer Adam's query, Daniel?1 point

Must be a jaaag. Thirsty cars they are also. I really liking how cheap the Xf and XE are. The older XJ8 with the V8 engine is surprisingly cheap also. Dad's friend brought one around to fix and went on a test drive in it. That V8 roars really does it.1 point

Lol that's better than my fiesta zetec s 1.6 diesel. Thankfully the tax on mine is below the threshold were it increases each year so only stays at £30. I also heard that the ULEZ extension planned for next year might be delayed due to CoronaVirus and it putting a massive debt on tfl. I really hope that's true as that'll make me happy that I didn't sell the fez this year1 point

My petrol Focus ST 2.0 is the same Tax my petrol Focus Zetec S 1.6 was, so I was already used to paying nearly £200, emissions are very similar. Like with you, the extra 0.4 litre engine (and now a Turbo) didn't do anything noticeable to my miles per tank, which was a surprise. I am now paying more for 97 fuel, but considering the difference between and 1.6 and an ST it's worth it.1 point

@simps100 I have not disassembled the rear bumper, it is possible to look inside on one side. For my part, I have a model with the left hand drive, so at the rear exhaust side, you can see the interior of the rear bumper. In the photo, you can see that there are only two sensors (one on the side then the rear side). Normally the BLIS sensor is in between? Sorry for my english, I'm french. ^^ https://imgur.com/TcwwxxY1 point

Haha it’s because when I first got an iPhone they were still Google Maps, changed to Apple Maps a few years ago but I can’t remember when.1 point
-
Haha wasn’t sure by the way you’d worded it lol (though that’s probably more to do with the way I read it) 😂. I keep meaning Apple Maps not Googlemaps, I just call them the same thing for some reason. I’ll have a fiddle with an Android phone and have a look 😃1 point

Not certain but I don’t think edge had quick clear windscreen did it? That would annoy me.1 point

It's funny you mentioned that. When I was at the barbers I was thinking of going around my road the long way but it started raining so wanted to get back home quick without putting my hood on so I don't get loose hair going on the hood. From my house I just walk to go out onto the main road then it's a minute walk from there to the barbers around the corner. I think places are beginning to open up. Might go to the detailing shop one day. Dad ordered a seal for the intercooler which hopefully will come tomorrow then can hopefully put the new condenser in and other bits. Looks like also I might of gotten an original condenser which is a bonus 😁. You'll get sick of it believe me 😂. During the day I'm actually happy I got uni work as it keeps me busy. Late evenings I like to go on the PS4. I think also I noticed your following me now on ps4 and can't remember if you invited me to a group. Tomb raider is free to download this month on psn which I recommend you getting 👍 Yeah it's not easy. Heartbreak really is a stinger and I wish I could just move on and not feel like this. Coincidence that I heard about her a week before lockdown started. Could be a reason from god that it happened this way. Been playing mafia 3 and getting into the songs from the 1960s especially from Del Shannon. His songs seem to be mostly based on breakups.1 point

Hi You need a piggy back fuse adapter Then take out the existing fuse from somthing like the rear window heater; replace it with the piggyback fuse adapter Then plug the original fuse in to the piggyback adapter aswell as a 10amp fuse to filter the new output to your dashcam. The only thing you need to find out first is your fuse size ? My 2010 focus takes ATS See image:1 point

Hello and welcome to the forum I asked the same question when I first joined here, as there's no mention of it in the owners manual. The answer people think is either for credit/debit cards or for car park cards, In the past someone could have jokingly said, it's for your AA/RAC card! 😛 The space next to it is handy for loose coins or putting you keys in if you don't want them in your pocket.1 point

@TomsFocus The original I first heard in the movie "it's all gone Pete Thong" where a DJ goes deaf and glued some sandals to some subs to help him continue writing music using his feet to sense the beats 😂 all fiction not real but its filmed as though it is. Also like this remix recently sound great on the subs in the car1 point

No offence but that's a load of shi!e or car compnays would still put drums on all 4 corners of their cars but they dont because discs have better cooling which reduces brake fade & brake wear and they also work better in the wet.1 point
