  3. The dog regardless of size should be buckled up by law. Our boxer ( only have one now) weighs in at 38kg and is always buckled up via either harness or collar and seatbelt in the car which tbh isn't very often but either way I wouldn't be travelling in a vehicle without her safely secured.

  4. I have successfully updated my maps to F10 and found in my case to be a 3 stage process. First enter the vehicle, start engine and plug in usb drive it should then recognise and start downloading the first part of the update. After about an hour it flashes up updated but thats only the first part and you have to do a power cycle to enable the second part of the update to start. After about an hour it again flashes up updated but again you have to do a power cycle before the final part completes. The final part only takes about 2 or 3 minuets as it only checks and writes the successful update log file to the usb drive. Also, this is the only time it specifically says that the update has successfully completed and its now safe to removed your usb drive. I kept my engine running during the entire update process apart from of course when carrying out the power cycles.

  5. Hi, I also have the old version. These days my Stop/Start system no longer works which is fine by me so I will keep the old sensor.

  6. *UPDATE* So I had car booked in to be diagnosed at Ford Garage this morning, and just so happens that today of all days I’ve also had a solid Check Engine light come up alongside my Charging System red battery light...🤣 I plugged OBD2 reader in and got the following error code: P0131 - O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage, Bank 1 Sensor 1 Also, my Ford Pass app alerted showing 4 different errors: 1. ‘Engine Control System detected issue with one of the exhaust emission sensors and assosciated wiring.’ 2. ‘Engine control system has detected an internal fault with modules ability to properly control the fuel injectors.’ 2. ‘PCM has lost communication with vehicle active grill shutter module for a period of time. Additional alerts may accompany this alert when fault occurs.’ 4. ‘Powertrain control system detected it is unable to move the active grill shutter.’ I wonder if it’s likely that all of these issues could all be related. Bad wiring somewhere has been causing the Battery Light to come on, and now another wire or sensor has become faulty and caused the Engine Light to come on? I will update post again later when I hear something from the Garage.

  7. The SOC state of charge sensor connected in the negative lead just before the battery is known to cause issues on 2019 models. There is a replacement sensor available which seems to sort the problem. See also this video on the sensor https://youtu.be/t0PAZMsK9Go

  8. In 2012 Ford started to standardize the wheel types and wheel nuts that were used. The main purpose of this was to reduce the large number of different wheel nuts and wheel types that were used at the time on the various Ford models arround the world. Because almost every type of wheel nut that Ford used also had its own tightening torque this also means that the tightening torque of the wheel nuts is also standardized. However standardizing the Wheel types and wheel nuts has also caused a lot of confusion. It is not clear to many people which combination of wheel / wheel nut is or is not allowed. A wrong wheel / wheel nut combination can even be dangerous. It is therefore very important to use the correct wheel / wheel nut combination. On the Focus MK3 Ford has used the new wheel type (Global Wheel) from its introduction in 2011. However at that time the Focus MK3 did still have the old 1-piece wheel nut design for alloy wheels. From 05-11-2012 onwards the new type Global Wheelnut design is used. The table above shows which combinations are possible. In addition I have also listed the prescribed tightening torques for the different wheel nut types on the Focus MK3. Be aware that different types of wheel nuts should never be combined. Do not combine new design locking wheel nuts with old design wheel nuts (or vice versa)! Recognition of wheel types: Old design alloy wheel. Alloy Global Wheel. The alloy wheel type is fairly easy to determine based on the size of the mounting holes. The old alloy wheel type has considerably larger mounting holes than the new type of Global Wheel. Recognition of wheel nut types: Old Wheel nut design: Left: Old design wheel nut for steel rims. This type of wheel nut is available in 2 different versions. These can be recognized by the color (Gold or Silver). The color indicates the type of material of the wheel nut. It is important to pay attention to this as both types have a different tightening torque. Middle: Old type solid (1-piece design) wheel nut for alloy wheels. Right: Old type solid (1-piece design) locking wheel nut for alloy wheels. New Global Wheel nut design: Left: Global Wheel nut for steel wheels. Middle: Global Wheel nut for Alloy Wheels. Right: Global locking Wheel nut for Alloy Wheels. Old 2-piece design wheel nut for Alloy Wheels: The old 2-piece design wheel nut for alloy wheels has a loose conical shaped collar. This type of wheel nut must never be used in combination with Global Wheels !! The reason for this is that this type of wheel nut has not enough contact surface to the wheel due to the loose conical collar. This can cause the wheel to come loose.

  12. A taxi driver once showed me a plastic cutout he had made himself to the right shape to push into the slot for exactly that reason, though I think he used it on the drivers side for when he had to get in and out too frequently (no comments on legality). if you have the tools that's a 5 minute cost-free fix. I fixed my Mk 2 using some sequence of turning things on and off that I found on the internet, though I guess they changed this on the Mk 4 and no one has worked it out yet?

  17. How many limited did they make, because it seems like everyone has one on Instagram 😂 saying that when they bought out the mk6 st special edition people soon forgot about it until one came up on piston heads a few year ago with 500 miles on it, that went for £££££

  19. At least your still studying. Finished back in September and due to still being in the downfall of covid there's hardly much jobs out there. Managed to get a healthcare support worker job in my local hospital and hopefully if I get flexible working can try and getting training in a mortgage broker to become a mortgage advisor. Hopefully when you graduate that time things may of gone back up for the economy.

It'll just be down to the fact that the person you were in contact with didn't get tested till 2/3 days after they bumped into you. Can't complain at free time off work to sit in the garden with this weather though...

  25. Thanks for that reply Tom it more or less puts into perspective that looks arnt everything. Like you said it's annoying that anything around or over 150bhp is Auto or DSG nowadays. Back to the drawing board once again. Its quite funny really that our last 3 cars we changed that from the outset it was " Find something other than a Focus" 😆

  28. mmm... I was thinking, 1 lady owner = driver carpet threadbare due to high heels, interior mirror mounting worn due to excessive and frequent adjustment, seats covered in make up stains, icons worn off switch ware due to moisturiser/acetone usage, engine potentially b*ggered due to ignorance of flashing red dash light (though it does look ever so cute!), fuel system clogged due to constantly running out of fuel (can't be bothered damaging nails at pump). Maybe you're right, maybe I am turning 'woke' LOL 🤣🤣🤣

  29. This weather! Now that the ACF-50's had time to work I made the most of the sun to rub down and repaint the surface rust in the rear wheel arch behind the side skirts and touch up the stone chips on the calipers. This side in progress: The other side finished: With the rusty front wheel arch liner screws replaced too that's all the jobs I had on my list done

  33. Yes. It's well know that rubber mats can cause the carpet to sweat a lot, in hot weather the poor wooly carpet sheds so much sweat that it can nearly flood the footwells 🤣 or do you think possibly there might be a leak somewhere?

  36. I also only got advisories on the original 5 year old rear Potenzas that have started cracking. They still have 4mm of tread on them but I guess I should look at replacing them with Pilot Sport 4s to match the fronts sometime in the next year.

  37. Well the ST flew through its MOT and service today. Not surprising I guess as it's only done 822 miles in the last year I've done more miles in the 310R! Can anyone else beat that for lack of use?

  38. Thanks Eric, you are right there about opportunities like I found about the apprenticeship programs this hospital does. I'm happy at least hopefully I can start my career training as a mortgage advisor on the side whilst working and progressing in the hospital 😁

  39. When you're laying in A & E wondering if you have a future, all the people who help you seem pretty special!** I can appreciate it's disappointing not getting where you were aiming after all your work and study. However, the NHS is a very big organisation with a lot of opportunities and at least you've now got a foot in the door! You may very well find you develop an interest in an area you hadn't even considered before, and find your career goes in a direction that you never thought of. All the best wherever life takes you!😀 (** One of my nicest memories is of a day when I was scheduled for an operation late morning and had to be on "nil by mouth" from quite early. One of the nurses realised that would mean missing breakfast so brought me some tea and toast at about 5.30am! A small act of kindness like that can mean so much at an anxious time.)

  40. You know what your right there. Just feel that sadly there being no trainee posts for the scientist career I wanted to get into it's a big steer in career however this hospital have apprenticeship programs in a lot of stuff so could try that out later to help me progress somewhere. I have my eye on the pharmacy apprenticeship. They also had dietician, radiographer and management Apprenticeship programs. This post I have is an apprenticeship. Most people in my post go into nursing which I'm not too keen on. It's 37.5 hours work a week and will be doing 12.5 hour shifts. That means I'll only come in 3 days a week and have the rest of the week off to study. Might work weekends for the overtime pay plus it'll give me days in the week to go to the mortgage broker. Hopefully it works out I go to both places getting expect from them and work my way up in both.

  42. I'm happy to say I started my new and first job in my local hospital. Nothing special just a healthcare support worker in A&E. Currently on a break as the manager didn't get any heads up about me starting so waiting till 9am for HR opens. Hopefully if it works out I do 3 days a week here and try and do 2 days a week in the mortgage broker. Will be happy with that as I'll be doing both things.

  46. My vent axia fan partialy not working. Fan works if you overide the humidity and light sensor.only 3 years old. Thought I would get another but none of the Screwfix, tool station, Wickes had the same replacement one in stock. So I emailed vent axia and they said 5 yr guarantee in my fan. So they sending out a new one. Result for a change.

  47. I do like my new 'chimney'! The original, barely 30 years old, was weathered that badly is was a danger with every passing storm. When the contractor suggested removing it, rather than rebuilding the stack (very expensive!), I was horrified at the suggestion as though I don't use the fire much, I still wanted it functional. He then explained his solution. Great job, now maintenance free, and had some ventilation tiles installed in roof at same time... I'll post the 'crowd funding' link soon LOL
