  1. My daughter's 13 plate fiesta is £30. So between her car, step daughters peugeot107, partners fiesta ecoboost and my dirty diesel Mondeo , we pay a fortune to the government of £50 in total. Outrageous!! 😂😂😂

  2. You only have to watch some Formula E racing! With the sound off, it looks quite an exciting race, put the volume up and it sounds like a herd of Dysons, just horrible!

  3. I used to keep a trolley jack but for just one purpose. I bought a very large (18 room) house at Mablethorpe and spent 6 years converting it into flats (did all the work myself). My wife would come over from Nottingham at weekends and we may have had to get the car out in a hurry as she suffers from Type 1 Latex Allergy and can go into anaphylactic shock, in which case I have to get her to hospital in a hurry. No time to wait for an ambulance. The problem was the house was opposite the post office and people would park across the drive while they went to the post office. During the 6 years we were there, there were two occasions when I used the trolley jack and, to teach the drivers a lesson, I dragged the back of the offending car into the middle of the road with the trolley jack and just left it there.

  4. Tried to do something different. Took many days just to get the thinking and application right to ensure that it is a clean and non destructive modification. So far so good, but there's room for improvement and will try and do an "integrated" look so that it there the light comes out from what is presumed to be the horizontal chrome part of the grill. Right now, it is possible to get light from what is a "chrome strip", but the light output is pretty dim, and will try to get the best possible result soon.

  5. I can't see any logic to carrying a 'spare' jack. What would you need it for at the roadside, other than changing a wheel? If you are changing the wheel then you're going to need to get the spare which is next to the standard jack.

  6. That would be an ecumenical matter.

  7. Finally got around to watching Bohemian Rhapsody last night! For anyone remotely interested in Queen I would highly recommend it. Instead of just linking a Queen song I've chosen the split screen comparing the real Live Aid concert footage and Rami Malek's performance.

  8. Hi Looking at the price lists (1 from January 2015 and 1 from May 2015) the only difference is that the January price list says euro 5 and the May price list says euro 6 emissions so that must be the tweak to push the emissions up to the next tax band. My mums old car (Peugeot 206) she had one registered November 2001 and it was about £145 tax per year. She bought a new one in September 2007 and the tax was about £200 per year (emissions were 149g/km to 152g/km. I have attached both price lists for you to look at ( its on page 16 on both) Hope this helps Fiesta Pricelist (2) 2015 5.pdf Fiesta Pricelist (10) 2015 1.pdf

  9. Yes, bit unfortunate that such a small change makes a big difference in VED in that instance (rates for cars reg March 2001-2017): Petrol car (TC48) and diesel car (TC49) Band and CO2 emission Single 12 month payment Single 12 month payment by Direct Debit Total of 12 monthly instalments by Direct Debit Single 6 month payment Single 6 month payment by Direct Debit A: Up to 100g/km £0 £0 N/A N/A N/A B: 101 to 110g/km £20 £20 £21 N/A N/A 😄111 to 120g/km £30 £30 £31.50 N/A N/A 😧 121 to 130g/km £130 £130 £136.50 £71.50 £68.25 These changes do seem to happen quite often, not clear if the manufacturer alters anything or if it's changes in the test regime. My Fiesta is registered at 102gm on the V5C, subsequent price lists have had it as various figures including 117, 116, and 109, so who knows?😀 Edit:no idea how the emojis got in the table!

  12. So as I have already stated, passenger side side lights front and rear were coming on briefly when I unlocked the car, but wouldn't come on after that. DTC was giving position light short circuit. My initial thoughts were a loose connection on the BCM, especially as it had been flickering. I went through the wiring diagram and identified the feed to the rear position lights. I unpinned the feed and put another pin in which was connected to my test light. Test light and front position light came on, so it was a problem with the rear. My next thought was the connection going through to the tailgate, as I have had problems before on my previous focus. So I found the connection going up to the tailgate and unplugged this....no different. So my next suspicion was a break or shorting of the wire from the BCM to the rear. Passenger seat out, all the trims off and the carpet pulled back. No signs of any damage to the loom. After a bit of head scratching I decided to look at the rear light cluster. I took it out and unplugged the bulb. Lights stayed on. Swapped the bulb with the driver side one. And the driver side did the same. I measured the resistance on the bulb and it was all over the place, so it was a faulty bulb!! What threw me was the fact that the bulb came on when I unlocked the car. So the moral of the story is to check the simple things before you start ripping the car apart!!!

  13. I used to have two from a previous car! One which was used & scratched to death, that was in the boot. The other was a brand spanking new jack and kept in a box in the shed 🤔 When I sold that car I swapped the used jack to the brand new jack, impressed the buyer that the jack had never been used and put at least 99p on the sale of the car....lol

  14. I have the one that came with the spare wheel. What would be the point of me carrying another one?

  15. I don't have a jack in the boot, would always be worried about the damn thing springing out when I least expected it. Oh wait, that's a jack in the box...

  17. I would check the BCM connections are not corroded as water from the washer resorvoir can leak and track down to the BCM.
