  1. Well, here's a sad post, 'Briar', the horse I got for my daughter over twenty years ago had to be put down in the small hours of this morning, he was 26. Such a charecter, not a bad bone in his body, end of a era frankly. That gun salute today at lunchtime ?, it's for 'Briar'
  2. This is a bit overkill, but as my mk8 St seats don't fold to be a flat floor, ( when folded down you are left with a step), I have completelyremoved the back of the back seats, the base is still in place, then I got some cheap carpet and fitted it in the now flat boot. By putting a stanley knife cut in the correct place in the extra carpet, right above the seat belt anchorage buckles, I can clip the legally required doggy strap in. There are only three bolts in the middle of the back seats, and a single clip either side, simply screw the bolts back in the three holes for safe keeping. S

  5. Hi guys, the factory fitted tyre size is 205/40 x 18, the tyres are stretched to fit the 7,5 rims. It is possible to put 225 / 35 x 18's on the same rim, this is a totally safe and acceptable tyre size for this rim and the rolling radius is only out by .1 of an inch. Anybody done it ?, the tyre sidewall would be square with the rim edge but I ponder fouling maybe on full lock, or summat I haven't spotted. Other than that, who's tried tyres that aren't Michelin OE ?, I presently have Pirrelli Sottozero winter's on. Thank-you in anticipation.
  6. Now then, is the adaptive cruise the version that let's you set both speed and distance, and then it auto breaks ?, my st2 has that, never use it though. I'm a 33" waist and weigh 10.5 stone, I have no issues with the seats, I do have a boney little bum though, I also have the Led h/lamps and would comment that the auto levelling system is super keen to respond and keeps flicking the light up into the eyes of oncoming drivers, I get flashed quite a bit. It's good they've sorted the spare wheel issue, if you go into sport mode using the mapping button, the exhaust valve opens and th
  7. Well, well, hello to you, the Mk8 fiesta is the same length as the original focus, the ST models are almost too good inside for a hot hatch. The ride is a bit harsh for some brit roads, potholes are a pain, which of course is those low profile tyres, because it does speed bumps just fine. The three cyl engine is a gem, because the bore and stroke of each cylinder is bigger than the outgoing 1600 4cyl model, you get more torque, like a small diesel, it's a joy round town, work run, shopping, but the exhaust drones a bit on motorway runs. Obviously quick enough to get you in troubl
  8. ***** Brilliant !!, such a blast from the past, and the sound track too, I play electric bass, (yes, it's even worse than my driving! ) thank-you for uploading it. I had the same mk1 escort for years, but mysteriously it kept growing replacement body shells, I'd just swap the chassis plate and number plate over. I did some marshalling too, usually in Dalby Forest on the RAC rally .
  9. What ?, Outside ??!!, Brrrr ....
  10. Hi guys, was anyone here part of the road rallying scene in the 1970's ? (Big hair, big ego's, etc) Apologies if I haven't found an existing thread yet.
  11. Hi guys, I had a three week dollop of covid last November, yes, I will have the jab, and wear masks, I'd even wear a condom if it helps, lol.
  12. Hi folks, names Michael, just got a Feb 2019 ST2 with all-sorts of upgrades as my future retirement car, ex demo from the local dealer, back in the 70's i use to have a Mk1 escort for rallies, and have competed in international rallies at that time with it, hoping to fit right in here !!
  13. Thanks for that, i'd read that, but somehow didn't believe it.
  14. Hi, and hello to all, as a newbie to this forum and my ST2, im looking for someone to spell it out how to stop the enhanced ''noise'' when in sport mode, I've looked under the bonnet and its nothing like that focus that the German guy has posted his excellent thread on. Any body got a pic of under the bonnet as to which pipe i'm looking for please, its a Feb reg this year.
