  1. Have only used ECO mode once and that was by accident. It makes the car feel like a 100ps and I didn't notice any economy benefit tbh.
  2. Unfortunately one of my two Fiesta's has suffered a kerb impact today resulting in the writing off of a tyre and the damage shown to the rim. I'm looking to get the rim repaired and wondered if there was any experience / advice here including any recommendations for repairers in the south east. Thanks

  4. I've run several 1.25 engined Fiesta's over the years and never had any problems with them. They are not particularly economical and in my experience will struggle with a loaded car on motorway gradients. And quite a different beast to the ecoboost. On all the 1.25 engines I've run the ECU map doesn't seem to cope well with the air conditioning compressor load causing hesitation and loss of performance. "Feature of the product sir..."
  5. Mine seems to have an intermittent buzzy rattle coming from the glovebox area. Almost sounds like the sound of an electrical arc across the contacts of a switch or relay!!!!!
  6. Heading for 5000miles now and the economy seems to have settled at 45mpg with air con on all the time. I expect this to improve as the weather warms up again.
  7. I also like the LED headlights but feel that they are not as good as they could be and I find the auto high beam too slow to dip forcing me to override it. I think probably the suspension / Michelin PS4 tyre 17" combination is the best feature giving great control and just enough compliance.
  8. My car has now done coming up to 4000miles and on my daily commute of 9 miles each way on a twisty B road mine seems to have settled out at around 45mpg with the aircon on auto. I have seen averages in the low 50's on long slow motorway runs (50 to 60mph)
  9. Should have gone with the LED option 😉 But seriously I believe there are uprated bulbs available and there are threads here about them but the dip beam has a very sharp cutoff on the standard headlamps which even uprated bulbs won't get around.
  10. No you don't need the handbrake - you apply the footbrake and when you need to move off you release it and the system holds the brake for the few seconds allowing you to push the accelerator pedal, lift the clutch and pull away normally at which point the brakes are released. And yes thats dynamic indicators
  11. My mk7.5 had the nozzles in the bonnet also but that didn't suffer from this problem. The mk8 has fan jet type nozzles so I wonder whether this makes a difference.
  12. The hill start assist programme keeps the brakes applied for a few seconds whilst you drive off.
  13. I actually find hill start assist useful as you don't need to use the handbrake
  14. Mine does the same but only from the drivers side nozzle
