  1. I have been able to update my maps to F9 whilst still using Sync 3.3. Going from Sync 3 v 2.3 to Sync 3 3 was a nightmare as Ford posted corrupted upgrade files for a while on their website. Maps F6 to F8 upgrade was over 24Gb, but I got a 64Gb stick in an Argos sale for £8. After travelling any distance post Lock down was finally permitted, it took about 40 mins to do the first phase of the f6 to F8. When the upgrade re started a corrupt file was reported. When I got home I found the maps had got to F8 and all appeared to work. I downloaded the F9 update and rather than try to finish off the F8, I just let it install F9 from the stick, which took about 35 mins. After restart it proceeded to do the rest, but I had to go home so that was only 15 mins and was forcibly partly interrupted. it took a further 15 mins of driving to completely finish the F9 upgrade. Reply if you want more info.

  5. Yes I did. I was blighted with numerous issues for several months, all Ford's Fault, with either their website issues or Ford posting corrupt files. I now have Syn 3 V3 and F9 maps. You have to update to Sync 3 v3 first before the maps can be updated. At the time I wanted to go to F8 maps. Then came Lockdown! Reply if you want more help!
  6. Good question: One you could put to Ford UK!
  7. Latest Ford Sync update now worked for me. Look on my posts for more info.
  8. At last! The latest download package from Ford delivered Sync 3 Software version 3.0 Build 19205 for me too. The File that previously gave the error is now 1.5 Gb.
  9. Well at last , the most recent download package from Fraud actually works! I know have Sync 3 Sofware vesion 3.0 Build 19205 up and running. Thanks Ford cistomer service for not telling me when another download was available. It has been a learning experience, but one thing I have picked up is to do some investigating yourself when you get error messages etc. So many other people who have experienced the issue. tried all sorts of things that might have been irrelevant. As I type the 25 Gb maps update is downloading. Sigh!!
  10. Just saying it works OK for me or it could be the anti virus could be a red herring for those of us with issues. Bear in mind that different Ford VIN numbers may result in downloads of varying sets of zipped files. Some of the sets may be OK whereas some may have a duff encrypted file. I have a Focus 1.0 Ecoboost 125 2017 model. Other Focus models or Fiestas etc might get sent a slightly different package of files.
  11. NCH Express Zip displayed no errors for me but still gave the PKG ERR003 when I tried to install it.
  12. Scoggy, this is what I put to Ford Customer service and their response: _______________________________________________________________________________ Good evening. Having downloaded the Sync 3 update zip file for my car, it will not install. I get the error message “PKG_ERR003. However, this is NOT because I have unplugged the USB drive during the update. I don't need a diagnosis to understand the issue: I have identified that the download provided by Ford contains a corrupted file within the Zipped SyncMyRide Folder. It is JR3T-14G391-AE.tar.gz I confirmed this by scanning the download with WinZip with file extraction software. Win Zip, 7 Zip & Express zip all report it as having invalid compressed data and it can't be extracted. The Winzip report is shown below: WIN ZIP report Warnings were issued - see below for details Testing DONTINDX.MSA Testing SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-THA.tar.gz ******* DONTINDX.MSA Tested OK Testing SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-TCB.tar.gz Testing SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G391-AE.tar.gz ******* SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-THA.tar.gz Tested OK ******* SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-TCB.tar.gz Tested OK ******* SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G391-AE.tar.gz: Invalid compressed data to extract. Severe Error: Compressed data is invalid. Using the tools above, I can unzip all the other files in the compressed SyncMyRide Folder and examine their contents. Please can you refer this to the appropriate IT staff in Ford and ask them to provide a resolution. _______________________________________________________________________________ Good afternoon, Thank you for your email. We are aware of issues experienced with the update facility, and our Technical team are working to resolve these concerns as quickly as able; to ensure the facility is functioning correctly, and the relevant tools are available as necessary. We are expecting the next update to be released shortly, to provide both update for our vehicles and to address concerns that have been raised; therefore, we would recommend awaiting the latest update before reattempting. Alternatively, you are welcome to contact your local Ford Dealership for assistance with completing the update on your behalf, if you would prefer but this may incur a charge for labour.
  13. The PKG_ERR003 is probably because Ford are supplying me with a corrupted ZIP See below when I analysed tonight's download: Looks like Ford's Sync update package is supplying a duff compressed file JR3T-14G391-AE.tar.gz More soon. 14. Express Zip by NCH Software. However, the same error occurred. 15. Must stay on Focus I am having problems too, but I keep reading you can't update via WiFi in the UK. Are you saying that young back to original Factory default has enabled sync update via wi fi for you? I am on sync 3 V2. I can't install the update as it gives PKG_ERR003, suggesting it can't unpack the zip archive.
