  1. Hello, I have a 05 Ford fiesta st, I was driving it yesterday and the driveshaft failed. The knuckle has came out, can this be put back in or is it a new driveshaft needed? Thanks in advance 😊
  2. Hello, I have recently insured my car and to my knowledge I had no claims that I hadn't used for about a year and a half. On review of that I've just found out that it's been 2years and 2 months since I've driven. Ouvbously iv lost them now right? Is there any chance that the insurer would still except? Cheers.
  3. Hello, I have a 05 fiesta st just in the process of removing the rear passenger side brake caliper and one of the bolts won't come off, any ideas? It's ouvbously a little rusty but dirty too, just have no idea what to do as I will end up rounding the bolt off?
  4. Thanks everyone so much it means alot, my dad knows and is confident in doing it all (caliper) just he's struggling getting a nut and bolt off, its rusty and just doesnt want to come off lol,any ideas how he can get the last one off? Thanks guys!
  5. Thank you. Are they easy enough to fit yourself? It will be my dad doing it of course, He knows how to do discs, pads and other stuff or is this for a mechanic to do?
  6. Ooops! Never new that. How much are we looking at for a second hand one? Will that also get rid of the ABS light? Cheers for the reply
  7. Hello I posted something last night (below) Hello I have recently brought a 05 Ford Fiesta st and it's making a terrible grinding rubbing noise' the disc is very rusty and the pad is pitted, I got home tonight and went to reverse and it was like the hand brake was on but wat it was the back brake locked, I had to throw water over it to release it, will replacing the pads and discs solve the problem? As well as the noise whilst driving? If not any ideas on what this could be? I FORGOT TO MENTION THE ABS LIGHT IS ALSO ON. I have phoned local garages and they said it is a faulty caliper, has anyone had a problem like this and can point me in the best direction? not strapped for cash at the minute as I have just done all new tyres and other stuff to pay out. I will have more money come pay day.
  8. Thanks everyone for the advice it's much appreciated it really is. Anyone know a rough figure on how much it will cost? I've just spent 240 on all the tyres and of course now the brake pads and discs :( should have learnt mechanics in college lol
  9. Hello henryv, i know nothing about cars it's my dad that's going to do the discs and pads for me. is. Calipers piston easy to do yourself? im not sure if it's the hand break as I know nothing about cars lol it's only the one side though, not looking good by the sounds of things :(
  10. Thanks for the reply stoney871. This must be a brake issue for sure as the abs light is on too. How much does it cost to have the calipers serviced?
