      it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

    Don’t know if it’s just the picture but the hoses look a different shade to mine. Mine are very much silver but yours seem to have s bronze hue. New alloy mix perhaps?

    I opened a case with Resolver and used the Pinned post from the Facebook group for the Ecoboost engine failures. There was a lot of posts in Danish from Ford and Danish motorists about the issue which helped a lot.

    At last. My nice new shiny Turbo. Case now closed. Done under 'Goodwill' from CRC. It seems to be coated with a thin layer of resin. Hope it lasts.

    My apologies on the paint front. From earlier posts it did seem as though paints were either or. It’s good to know that there is a product that can do both. in answer to above - take it to Ford to see what they will do. Otherwise remove rust completely, apply Kurust, then a heat resistant paint.

    The problem is there is no paint that is direct to rust and VHT. An extreme solution would be an application of high temp flue tape followed by a coat of VHT. https://apetape.co.uk/Item/kapton-polyimide-tape-9mm

    A metallurgist friend has told me that paint will slow down the rust considerably but it needs to be reapplied regularly. if the paint flakes or cracks the problem will reappear.

    I have spoken to a claims company in order to use the Sale of Goods act. I have been told that I have to offer the original seller the opportunity to help with the issue. I bought the car in Harrogate at Lookers so I will be contacting them to progress my claim. The claims company state I am not to ask for any specific resolution but only mention the problem and if possible negotiate a settlement satisfactory to both parties. If no settlement can be agreed I can then progress my claim. Which may include compensation for distress and delay. Fun times ahead!

    This is the email I have sent to EH as advised by Ford in order to get the answer to why work was refused on the vehicle. I am writing to requst the reason for refusal of remedial/repair/replace on my rusted turbo pipes on YA15 ACV. Please can you let me know why the part has rusted to this degree after only 30 months of age and the exact reason for refusal of work. Work has been done on other Ford Ecoboosts throughout the Ford dealership network ranging from scraping down and applying an Epoxy resin to full turbo replacement. I am aware that warranty do not cover this and am specifically asking why Ford are not supporting a customer who clearly has a fault with a vehicle. Also can you please advise whether or not my issue is related to Technical Service Bulletin 16-2088. And this is the reply; "We was advised but prior approval that If the pipe wasn’t leaking it didn’t need replacing. And the Workshop control also advised that the pipe wasn’t leaking so it didn’t need replacing, Kind Regards" Apart from the poor grammar. They obviously do not want to openly deny that 16-2088 has anything to do with my problem so have avoided mentioning it altogether. I have again emailed and asked specifically about the TSB. I'm not holding out much hope.

    I've finally received my call from the CRC case manager. They will not authorise any work as 'The part is fully functional and we (Ford) do not believe this is a manufacturing fault'. They state that they belive the rust is caused by where the car is stored!!!!! So my advice is - Don't buy an Ecoboost unless you can garage it every night! Looks like I'm going to Halfords for sanding paper and VHT paint. Luckily the car has 7k or until July on the warranty. I've decided to sell it. I'll not be getting another 1.0l Ecoboom.

    Thanks for the heads-up on using the Kurust after scraping and sanding. The standard Hammerite lists the upper temp as 300c but the standard operating temp should hit 90c as a normal running temp I suppose that pipe gets way hotter than that too often to use the direct to rust paint.

    I received a call on Friday (01/02) but according to the case manager there is no update. Ringing back on Tuesday. My first call to CRC was on the 16/01, so on Tuesday it will be three weeks. Didn’t think it would take this long.

    Just an update. I was rang again this morning by the case manager who said, "I have the photos now but I haven't got chance to review them until Friday." So I'm getting a call back then. I'm getting the impression that there may some playing for time here. I have readied my appeal with the Motoring Ombudsman. I am hearing that Ford are finally admitting to the problem with the overheating cylinder heads on some models, plus the rotting Degas hose issue and of course the RS recall. I am considering using the DVSA reporting form to start a discussion on the long term effects of the rusting coolant pipes on these turbos. As the previously mentioned issues, in some rspects, go back to 2010. It may help people who buy these second hand in the future and end up with problems.     To update. Had a call again from my 'case manager' who was quite off-hand with me. I have not been allowed to speak about it, so asked if I could just relay some points I knew so far. She became aggressive and dismissive saying, "This issue isn't like any others'. She then went on to say that the 'Dealership have decided this is not a warranty issue'. Even though the dealership stated they had spoken to warranty, who they say refused to sanction doing the work. She says she needs the pictures (which CRC already have because I was told by their facebook page they have passed it on!) and refused to accept mine but will only accept pictures from the dealership. When I pointed out that the problem must lie with the dealership she snapped back that, " I shouldn't put words in her mouth". Not holding out much hope. The case manager is ringing me back on Monday. I suppose they must be snail-mailing the pictures
