Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Workshop Manuals

Can anyone point me to a source for workshop manuals for the Kuga?
  2. Windscreen Washers

Windscreen washers have now twice been "repaired" by main dealer with the comment that the problem has been a blocked "filter". 3rd time washers have more or less packed up, sounds more like the system is drawing air i.e. a hose is off but before I start dismantling things wanted to ask if others have had similar issues and if anyone has any advice?

  4. C- Max MPG

We have a 1.6 petrol zetec and best I can get is around 36 on a motorway drive, not very impressive given that I've been using it regularly on my own (no wife kids and boot full of usual rubbish)! Think this needs to be explored a bit more as I was expecting a little bit better on a careful motorway drive....
  5. Cigar Lighter Fault

Had another look and figured that the contacts may be dirty or bent. Stupidly had ignition on so when I stuck the small screwdriver into the socket I shorted it (blue sparks) BUT fuses etc remained intact AND the socket started to work again. PRoblem now solved but quite how ... I don't really know!
  6. Cigar Lighter Fault

Checked both of these and replaced the one that had blown but still both sokets are "dead", wondering if there is anything else that may link the two and has "blown" or if it is pure coincidence that the the two have failed at the same time, mind you still doesn't explain why the new fuse hasn't had the desired effect on the cigar lighter in the main cabin.
  7. Cigar Lighter Fault

Cigar lighter (used for phone charger etc) stopped working. Traced (or so I thought) to a blown fuse, probably as a result of a piece of silver paper being pushed into the cigar lighter (kids)! Silver paper removed, fuse replaced but still no power. 12V boot socket also dead. WHat am I missing?
