Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Finally got around to taking the passenger door apart again, checked all the wiring and the plugs but they look fine, WD40'd them and put them all back. Can't seem to find any earth points in the door. Checked all the plugs and wires up in the passenger foot-well too. Still doing the same problem, sometimes it will not lock, sometimes it won't unlock, and sometimes the mirror fails to fold out when unlocking, and i'll have to keep hitting that mirror fold button to get it to fold out.
  2. Didn't get around to checking it last weekend, I'll do it this weekend hopefully. Anyone know where the earth points are inside the passenger door?
  3. Thanks for the help. I'll pull all the door card off in a few hours and give the earth points a check. I didn't know the two codes above came from two separate motors, thought it was one motor. Anyone know anywhere to check in particular and what I'm looking for? Thanks
  4. I accessed the passenger door module using an ELM and there was a bunch of error codes. I cleared all the codes and restarted the module and the following error codes persist every time. Looks like locking motor has gone? Also are there any guides on replacing these motor units? Would one from a 2008 fit my 2011 facelift estate model? B10EC, 15, 68 - passenger door double locking motor / circuit short to battery or open B1109, 11, 6C - passenger door central locking motor / circuit short to battery or open
  5. For the past few months I've been having problems with my 2011 Mondeo passenger side door. It started where the auto folding mirror wouldn't fold out when i unlocked the car, it would fold in fine but not out, i'd have to keep pressing the fold mirror button a few times to get it to eventually fold out properly. Then that sort of stopped happening, maybe once a week but it's been replaced with another problem. Now the door has issues unlocking. It will lock fine when i use the key fob, but when I unlock the car with the fob it'll stay locked from the outside. It looks like it has tried to unlock but hasn't fully as shown in the attached picture. Also when the anti-hijack locks the doors, it'll try to lock but won't fully click in and it'll remain unlocked from the outside. I took all the door apart and WD40'd all the connectors i could see, including inside the mirror housing under the cover. It didn't make any difference. I'm thinking either the door control module, or the motor for the locking mechanism is playing up?

  8. Fixed it, seems the two canbus wires were shorting for the seat plug. But now the entire seat doesn't work, up down, forwards backwards, backrest, none of them work.
  9. Furthermore the reverse camera doesn't show and the parking sensors don't work. There aren't any dings or noises as there usually is. Took the battery off for half hour, left the seat disconnected, and still exactly the same after reconnecting the battery (leaving the seat unplugged).
  10. I swapped my fully loaded drivers seat from my old Mondeo to my new one, but the new one is going back so put the fully loaded seat back in my old car and since plugging it back in, I'm having the below problems. The screen in-between the clock just displays Convers+ splash screen, the engine temp shows -60'c, when i push the ignition button it blows the fans on full power for 2 seconds. Also the doors won't lock. The car starts and drives ok but theres a problem with the dash electrics. Any idea what's up with it?
  11. So i had an ST a few years ago, had a turbo back pipe on it and it used to pop and bang like mad. Decided to buy a Mondeo with the 2.5T engine, to have some fun before I suddenly have to buy a family car like an Smax or something. So I want my Mondeo to pop and bang since it's the same engine, however... I've purchased and fitted a Scorpion turbo-back exhaust (resonated), and it doesn't pop, so I added a decat (welding a 200 cell sports cat to the decat pipe soon) and it still doesn't pop. I disconnected the battery for two hours to reset the ecu and it's learning habits and it made no difference. Some things that may cause it to non pop; it's got the standard downpipe on it, I am going planning on getting the scorpion 3" pipe soon. Also I couldn't get the sensor out from the old cat so I unplugged it until I purchase another one. I want it to pop and bang like the ST did, what can I do to make it do this?
  12. I've recently purchased a MK4 Mondeo with the 2.5T engine. No matter how sensible I drive it around town, I get no more than 20mpg on average. I had a Focus ST with the same engine and I'm sure that got around 27mpg around town. The turbo seems to start spooling at around 1400rpm and it has lots of low end torque, there seems to be a flat spot at around 2000rpm, if this makes any difference? Is this normal for the Mondeo with this engine, since it's heavier than the ST?
  13. Fitting Memory Seats

The wires that are cut in the pic are from the car which the seat was removed from. I just can't seem to connect them to anything in my Mondeo. Mine is a TitX, but the fuse location in the boot for the Memory Seat Function only has one side terminal for the fuse and the other terminal is blank. I heard somewhere that the striped coloured wire was for CanBus and can be connected to any other CanBus wires to enable them?
  14. I've fitted a new heated/cooled seat to my Mondeo MK4, but the seat has memory buttons. How can i enable these? All the wires are the same on the seat plug however the new seat came with two extra wires but i don't know where they go. Here is a picture:
